The trailer for Fences has to be one of the best for a non-blockbuster of all time. Will be hard to live up to that quite frankly.

Um, why does Wiki list OST's budget as $378m? No way that can be right. Right? But the budget is sourced with a Forbes link. Wtf, how did I miss that movie cost 400m?

Its only flaw for me is somewhat generic characters. Otherwise it would be practically perfect for a sci-fi blockbuster.

With a 150m OW I think the club has a 50% chance of succeeding 155m = 30% 160m = 10% 165m =<1% or effectively dead

If there really were 50m+ in pre-sales, please tell me how we don't know that most of those have been exhausted as of today? No one can say for sure that tomorrow's hold will be good, great, mediocre, or disastrous. Beyond that, an OW as high as 160m doesn't kill the club off completely either. Just makes it very unlikely.

There's that...or there's the fact that a whole crapload of 150m+ openers have had sub 2.9x multis. I'm not saying it's likely in December (hence why club is on life support), it is however possible. I still think everyone here is underestimating how little interest kids will have in this and the resulting effect on the multi. Kids have made every SW film in history leggy, not adults.

I'll never forget when the poor Kubo teaser came on as like the 8th trailer before my Thursday TFA screening last year and the whole theater booed and acted a fool. In fact, I think I'll just go ahead and blame that incident for Kubo not doing better.

Not at all! I insulted myself by saying I liked a crappy movie when I was young, sorry if you took it as an insult at you. I like hearing from our younger members. Quite frankly it tends to be much more enjoyable than some of our cranky, angry adult posters who shall remain nameless.
