  1. I can actually see it happening sadly enough. There was a woman near us at Central Intelligence that reacted shocked when she saw the R rating at the end of the trailer. She was like "how can a cartoon be an R?"
  2. I highly doubt Lights Out has near enough hype to be pulling Purge #s on OW. A leggy Insidious style run seems more likely to me.
  3. Lol @ all the doom and gloom all of a sudden for Pets. No way it's missing 300, that's ridiculous. IA5 would have to be a huge hit for that, and it's not even gonna make a dent.
  4. You know it's bad when CS is probably the most accurate reflection of public opinion on a film for once.
  5. I guess on the bright side the drop off in attendance won't be anywhere near as extreme as GB1 to GB2.
  6. Yeah, if audiences weren't crazy about STID, the early reception doesn't give me much hope this will be way more liked.
  7. FUUUUUUCKKKKKK! I was just looking over this week's summer game questions and noticed all the GB benchmarks are asking if they'll open below that #. I answered them all in an "at least" sense.
  8. And speaking of animation domination... at some point tomorrow a 12 year old crown gets snatched from a smelly ogre!!! #vengeancefortoystory3
  9. Would be fun to have a photo finish weekend: GB takes the estimates just so the haters can't make a mountain out of a mole hill on it coming in second in all the weekend headlines, but SLOP takes the actuals so animation domination can continue.
  10. I'm torn. I want this to breakout and do really well, but I also want the same for Kubo. Which might be hard if this is dominating the family market.
  11. Reviews look good, but looks like they will be a little worse than STID, which worries me. I think this needed to be a home run like '09 to have a chance at having great WOM and doing much over 150. Gonna say 48/155 as a final prediction for it.
  12. You know, the only times I ever really saw the previews for Ghostbusters were in front of animated/family movies and then when I saw Ghostbusters I saw previews for Trolls, Pete's Dragon, and Kubo. Kids seem like a strange market for the film to me, but I guess they were going for them?
  13. So my take on GB is that the movie isn't really funny...but it IS enjoyable. There's nothing really bad about it, and some parts are quite fun. But again, not a funny laugh out loud comedy or anything. Also, I felt the special effects were really good. I wasn't expecting it to be such a visual treat.
  14. I felt immensely sorry for the film at that point to be honest. The studio isn't even gonna let it stand on its own, even if the internet somehow would.
  15. While driving earlier I legit heard an ad on the radio for GB that quoted a critic as saying "proves ladies can be funny too!!!" and then you hear Wiig saying something along the lines of "so take that boys!!"
  16. Didn't you also like BVS? Something about critically panned blockbusters with buff dudes, eh Tele?
  17. Well, it is a remake of their own movie so there's really no way they can "disneyfy" something that's already theirs. So am I to assume you felt this way about TFA then? Honestly Disney is responsible for a huge variety of films these days, seems unfair to write them all off as being cut from the same cloth.
