Next year's Feb-April schedule is quite simply insane. I mean that would be a decent summer schedule in all honesty. BatB+Lego Batman could potentially gross more than the two highest grossers of the summer (which I'd guess will be Spiderman/Guardians). Then you also have Fast 8. Kong, and Wolverine 3 will be shooting for 150+ and Fifty Shades Darker, The Dark Tower, The Great Wall, God Particle, The Boss Baby, King Arthur, and Power Rangers are all attempting to be sizable 100+ hits as well. Basically we're either going to have summer in the winter season or tons of things are going to disappoint. Some of those need to move to April though, since Fast 8 has essentially been given the whole month to itself atm.

Oh it's definitely beating Apocalypse.

I bet this can go as high as beating Forever's 366m adjusted and #4 among Batman admissions if it lives up to its potential. Imagine if it captures the typical teen/adult CBM audience on top of kids of all ages, some of which are normally too young to see the live action ones. We could be in for one of the biggest animated hits ever in that case.

"Only?" Getting to 490m is still like a 5x multi off of this weekend. Hardly anything to sneeze at. It will need a ton of help from Disney with a big expansion push to get to 500, and probably some fudging even still in all honesty.

War Dogs looks like it may have the most annoying two lead characters of all time. No way do I see it doing well, it's giving off a putrid douche stench right through the screen.

25 would be great for Kubo, think it can get near 100 off that.

SLOP looks likely to beat IO now, Dory is gonna be like 10m short of 500 annoyingly enough.

It survived off of hardly any direct competition that summer. As I pointed out in my IA5 100m below IA4 DOM club, there were a whole slew of reasons IA4 got lucky to survive a big drop off and this one was in for a massive drop. IA5 literally had not one thing in its favor.

Pets is an original animated film that opened to 100m+. I don't care if legs were horrid (and they're not), it would still be a MAJOR success.

Lord have mercy, I knew a bunch of Ghostbusters 2 love was gonna materialize to haunt us at some point in this whole debacle.

It would beat Dory if it opened that high. ln all reality though, I'd so be there for it beating BvS which might not be totally impossible if WOM is great.

But it won't cause the next one is Lego Batman.

If that pattern holds, the next Batman film will open to 155m.

Well thank you for telling us all how it is. I suppose old video games can't compare to the quality of new ones then either since they have visually been so surpassed by new technology. And while we're at it, a book written by hand can't be as good as a book written after the invention of the typewriter, because again it was too limited by the lack of technology. Btw, I would LOVE to know how you know in the first place that only the Japansese can fully "get" Miyazaki films if you aren't Japanese.

Pets might sneak in just under the 50% drop if it hits that high end.
