DOFP is over $700m ww at still climbing, Fault will make like 20 times its budget and Apes has breakout potential if it's good. Dragon 2 is its only disappointment.

Keep going down! Let's get that under 30 hotness! It's the only way Bay will learn, since he's becoming the Sandler of directors, making hot beautiful garage knowing we'll keep paying to see it:http://www.thewrap.com/transformers-age-of-extinction-michael-bay-haters/

This is my surprise hit of the summer so far. I need to see it again before it leaves the theater.

Also, who was the main villain of this movie? Was it Galvatron or Lockdown? This movie couldn't really decide. The franchise has a major villain problem.
It was almost like Revenge of the Fallen before it, where they had Megatron do all the dirty work though his leader was the Fallen.
In the first, it was obvious Megatron was the main villain, but he didn't come into action until the final act.
The only villain that felt like a main villain in any film in this franchise was Sentinel Prime, as it was clear he was in charge and also did most of the dirty work.
Michael Bay was the main villain…and everyone involved in writing the script were the evil minions.

Holy shit I need this inside me right now.
To make the home viewing experience as painful as it was watching in the theater?

Good...it was complete shit. And this is from someone that likes the first, and 2 and 3 enough, to defend against the venomous hate they got. No more, 4 one was horrible and I want it to die and burn so Bay maybe tries something different with the next one.

...sigh...just got back from a 9pm 3d digital imax show and holy shit that was soooo much worse than I could have ever imagined. I like the first one quite a bit, and 2 and 3 are still fun and enjoyable, but my god was this terrible.I'm tired and have to get up for work in 6 hours but my best summary is Michael Bay went full retard. The script and dialogue are so atrocious the action and sfx can't make up for it. I don't have the will to write a full review at the moment but perhaps I'll expand tomorrow. And in case some doubt I saw it (from my lack of details) some of the worst parts (other than ALL the dialogue which is horrible) are rally car lucky charms out the window and down the ramp, flying fucking atm card, slow mo everywhere!! Running, fist pound, all the fights, etc, etc, stupid john goodman fatbot with dumb jokes...ugh I just don't want to think about it anymore.D-(It's probably an F really, but I still find the sfx of the robots cool, the dinobots were pretty cool and Bay filming so much of it with digital 3d imax cameras paid off as the 3d was good and the movie looked good)

The summer is already lost, when things like this are said.Hopefully TF4 and Apes are really good movies though and that they do in fact translate into box office successes. And hopefully the fall/winter trifecta of Catching Fire, Interstellar and The Hobbit save the (bo) year!Michael Bay is coming soon to save the summer.
-
I don't see any way TF4 misses $200m.Maleficent is holding too well.So it will win this summer with like 220m ? TF4 could even miss 200m if it follows Potc4 and has shitty 3D shares.

If only Tangled had squeezed out an extra $100m
That last $100m is always the hardest.

Does not compute...the wild card and second NFL rounds where there are 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday are so much better than anything the MLB playoffs have to offer. Also, any early word on Sat #s?Regular Season: NFL>>MLBPlayoffs: MLB>>NFL

You had to be there.Watching Dumb and Dumber. People find this shit funny?

That would be a mistake, it's a great movie. Also, the weekend numbers thread title should be:The fault in our box officeBlame WB their marketing sucked fish balls. There was nothing that screamed awesome. The trailer was just heh . I'll wait for It to premiere on HBO

That's a damn shame. Hopefully the great reviews and good wom give it decent legs.Nikki Finke @NikkiFinke · 4s Friday Box Office: #3 'Edge Of Tomorrow' (WB - 3490 runs) opens to only $10M as Tom Cruise actioner unlikely to crack $30M weekend.

Damn, wow this was the surprise movie of the year so far for me. Too tired to write a lot, but great movie and I really, really liked it. Will definitely see it again and hope it does well enough at the box office because it deserves it.A-

Trailers were bad and it didn't look funny so this isn't surprising at all. -
OK to clarify a couple points
The data that has been posted , which shouldn't be (I have known over the years raw data to appear on other site where in a nutshell listing the data was shut down), is not the total gross up until that point in time it is a sample of theatres.
Also included in that sample is a sample of the theatres grosses that played Thu night/midnight , hence a higher than usual number at 10am (fyi you would fall of your chair if you saw say TA at 10am first friday, the addition of this data has to be taken into account as it effect final outcomes)
X films sample data at say 11am,2pm,5pm,7pm is not necessarily the same as films Y Z you might be comparing, so may factor come into it,
like how big is the sample vs what is the total number of theatres playing (is it 3100 or 4000), is school out, isn't it, some other holiday, weather the list goes on.
When you try and factor in some comp films to try and help make heads or tails of raw sample the films used could be a different mix to what you are using for the actual results on what I think Fri, weekend, final cume etc is going to do.
Like you could compare a film that could do 30m on friday with one that does 50m, why because those titles may be seen to have similar trends better matinees , stronger /weaker evening, plays better in certain markets/regions etc etc so you are ultimately looking at what does TWS 3pm sample BO % to total day vs whatever
Lets say you looked at TWS OD 2pm compared to Thor OD 2pm if you had assumed the same % of business you would have projected TWS to do 43m for the day it did 37, now using Thor as example later in the day there was closer correlation between the two films say you looked at 7pm and based TWS on what Thor had done you would have now projected 37m. so in this case Thor could have been used as a comparion in the evening but not in daytime.

lolThe Lion King, Toy Story and Wall-E are the only animated movies that I love. Then again, they are also the only ones that I have seen.
-
It's been popular for 6 months...and people aren't hating on it, many just think it's overrated. So because Frozen is popular now, people are hating it. There's nothing new, happens to every popular films.

Cause no one's bothered to see it.No one's bothered to post reviews or votes. Hmm.
