  1. That's probably a likely possibility. Plus Seth Rogen's short box office comedy stamina is dying off, after This Is The End/Neighbors The Interview made $6 million domestic and then The Night Before only made $43 million domestic. Rogen has a box office trend like with Knocked Up, Superbad, and Pineapple Express. But then two months after Pineapple Express made nearly $90 million domestic, Zac & Miri only made $32 million domestic(mostly because of release date, and controversies about the title). Then Observe & Report only made just below $25 million, and Funny People flopped with $51 million domestic. So this could be a cycle, but if Sony gets their heads out of their asses with marketing then Sausage Party could possible be a decent hit. Also I forgot to mention Zac Efron his box office momentum has kinda died down after Neighbors too, We Are Your Friends tanked back in August with $3 million domestic, and then Dirty Grandpa was a hit($35 million domestic and $94 million worldwide on a $11.1 million production budget). But Neighbors 2 is a 50/50.
  2. I don't trust deadline went it comes to box office. They were thinking that Barbershop:The Next Cut could do $30 million opening weekend. They mostly just like to over predict the "event movies" and the comedy sequels/Kevin Hart/whatever movies.
  3. Just depends. Audience scores are usually a 50/50 lets wait for the crumbling results later today. This should be quite interesting.
  4. Marvel should be enjoying themselves this year with Deadpool, and Civil War. Doctor Strange will be a profit but nothing like Avengers or even Guardians level. More in the lines of around the total of Ant-Man. X-Men:Appcylpse I did have at 240 million domestic but I'm gonna lower it to about $205 million domestic. DC had BVS this year which was overall a decent profit for WB, and Suicide Squad should do big for them in August.
  5. I'm gonna disagree about how good Green Room is. I fuckin hated it, there wasn't any characters to give a shit about. There was blood but nothing to spit out. Despite the slow start there wasn't really anything to go home about just people getting killed and that's it. Just overall boring film I didn't get into, you guys like it cool but to me I didn't. On my list of my least favorite films of 2016 so far.
  6. The Nice Guys has potential of breaking out. WB usually does fine in the month of May(besides Hot Pursuit, and Dark Shadows).
  7. While its your typical second weekend of May. Things weren't too bad. Captain America:Civil War still managed to lead the weekend and it's second weekend drop was around the same field as Avengers:Age Of Ultron and Iron Man 3, with decent word of mouth Captain Anerica should still hold up just fine and make north of $420 million domestic. In second place, Disney's The Jungle Book passed $300 million this weekend it should manage to hold up strong with the weeks to come and make $355 million domestic. Also, this has been the second time this year that a studio has shared the top spot two weekends in a row along with Twentieth Century Fox with Deadpool/Kung Fu Panda 3, and Kung Fu Panda 3/The Revenant. Among the two new releases this weekend, Money Monsger debuted with a solid estimated $15 million this weekend which exceeds expectations and is better than other related George Clooney debuts such as Hail, Caesar!($11.4 million), and The Ides Of March($10.4 million). Money Monster also has decent word of mouth(B+ cinemascore which is the same rating I would the give the film), and with not big adult related competiton(unless you include The Nice Guys). Money Monster should be a decent win for Sony and make its way close to $50 million domestic. Other new release, BH Tilt's supernatural horror flick The Darkness debuted with an estimated $5.1 million this weekend which is better than BH Tilt/High Top Releasing's The Green Inferno($3.7 million) with typical mixed word of mouth (C cinemascore),and how horror films usually die out quick. The Darkness should crawl its way near $10 million domestic. Although coming off Mother's Day weekend last weekend, Mother's Day took a big dive for the weekend. If larger drops ensue more for the flick a total near $35 million seems likely. Disney Animation film, Zootopia still chugging along on the top 10 this weekend, and made a less than 15% drop this weekend! Although, Angry Birds debuts this Friday Zootopia is still a big win for Disney and should come close to $350 million domestic. The Huntsman:Winter's War took it's smallest drop yet this weekend. While its a big flop for universal, and overseas slightly helping out. With, more bigger releases on the calendar The Huntsman will probably go quickly and should come close to $50 million domestic. Keanu took an alright drop this weekend, but with Neighbors 2 coming out on Friday. Keanu could likely take a dive. Keanu should still likely purr close to $25 million domestic. Barbershop:The Next Cut also took an alright drop and should make around $55 million by the end of its run. The Boss took a solid drop this weekend as well, and should likely make its way close to $65 million domestic.
  8. Money Monster is a pretty good movie. The acting was good, I really liked the style to it and using real time instead of something like found footage of flashbacks.
  9. Then again it's tough to predict Speilberg at the box office. Bridge Of Spies I wished would have made $100 million domestic but made $72 million. Lincoln no one thought it would make $182 million domestic.
  10. The BFG could just do between $15-20 million OW and make around $55-60 million domestic. Speilberg films are tough to predict at the box office to be honest though.
  11. Predictions for May 20-22. Neighbors 2: 43.2 million, Angry Birds:41.5 million, The Nice Guys:16.2 million.
  12. People flip out when a superhero film drops on its second weekend, Captain America: Civil War should still be a huge profit and make around $420 million domestic and well over a $1 billion worldwide. Other movies and more I"ll share about tomorrow when the weekend estimates arrive. Next weekend looks interesting though Neighbors 2 and Angry Birds should do fine but I'm curious about the debut of The Nice Guys.
  13. Steep for Captain America. But could hopefully improve in the Saturday and Sunday front. Money Monster while it didn't do 6 million it still did 5 million which is quite solid for a film that didn't cost an horrendous amount and should open around $14-16 million for the weekend and end its run north of $40 million which would be solid for Sony.
  14. $15-17 OW for Money Monster? That's quite solid it could make around $50 million or so domestic and that would be a decent hit for Sony. They also have Angry Birds next weekend which could be a solid hit with families. Sony should have a decent summer/fall. Ghostbusters could be their downfall, but it's a 50/50 though.
