  5. April 2016 was smack dab on-par with 2014 and 2015. With just slightly less than 2015 but ahead of 2014.http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/biggestmonths.htm?page=4&p=.htm
  6. Dreadful weekend on the stateside. The Jungle Book has another yet solid hold this weekend and has passed the $250 million mark this weekend! With Captain America: Civil war entering the marketplace in a couple of days. The Jungle Book still has momentum to hold strong, and make at least $345 million domestic. Last weekend's opener, The Huntsman took a steep drop and is dying down big time from its predcessors. With the summer season coming up next weekend, and mixed word of mouth. The Huntsman will dissapear. Overall, The Huntsman should just make around $45 milion domestic. The head of the three bleh newcomers this weekend, Keanu wasnt too far at third place with an estimated $9.3 million which is higher than the debut of 2010 action comedy Macgruber. It is slightly below expectations(which was expected to about $10 million OW), Keanu could likely have second life on home video and Netflix(which I actually really liked Keanu, it was funny and the action scenes with the comedy worked just fine). But with just the film being aimed towards Key & Peele(which their sketch show on Comedy Central ended last fall). Overall, Keanu should be just a modest little hit but nothing special, and should end its run around $25 million. Other new release, Mother's Day debuted with an estimated $8.2 million which is director Garry Marshall's lowest grossing debut since Georgia Rule back in 2007 and was slightly higher than the debut of 2013's The Big Wedding. Mother's Day also marks as Jennifer Anniston's weakest debut since Wanderlust back in 2012, and was on-par with the debut of co-star Kate Hudson's 2008 film My Best Friend's Girl(which had better attendance). With bleh word of mouth, Mother's Day should leave theaters in a few weeks. Look for a domestic total close to $20 million. Other new release, video game film Ratchet & Clank bombed with an estimated $4 million this weekend the film should fall short of $10 million domestic.
  7. Franchise Fatigue. Secret Life Of Pets, and Finding Dory are occupying families between June and July. Plus it could perform like Alvin 4.
  8. This summer could be quite solid. But it's tough predicting the hits and flops. My top 20 summer movie forecast domestic: Captain America:Civil War:500 million, Finding Dory:400 million, Secret Life Of Pets:300 million, Suicide Squad: 295 million, X-Men:Apocylpse: 240 million, Independence Day: Resurgance: 225 million, Star Trek: Beyond: 200 million, Jason Bourne: 185 million, Ninja Turtles: Out Of Shadows: 165 million, Central Intelligence: 155 million, Ghostbusters: 155 million, Neighbors 2: Sorioty Rising: 145 million, Angry Birds: 140 million, The Conjuring 2: 130 million, Alice 2: 125 million, Sausage Party: 115 million, Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates: 105 million, Ice Age 5: 100 million, Pete's Dragon: 95 million, BFG: 90 million.
  9. Keanu will be a modest success. Considering that it doesn't have a big budget, or big actors. Key & Peele was one of Comedy Central's popular live-action shows besides The Daily Show(prefer John Stewart over that prick Trevor Noah), and Stephen Colbert(before he went to David Letterman's old spot). Just like other Comedy Centeal alum just Trey Parker & Matt Stone have their biggest hit of the bunch with South Park:Bigger, Longer, & Uncut which made $52 million back in the summer of 1999.
  10. Next weekend would just have the overseas number for Civil War, stateside has Keanu which looks good but I'm thinking of an opening weekend between $18-$20 million OW.
  11. The Jungle Book still remains king of the box office this weekend with the smallest drop ever for a Disney live-action film, and should stll remain strong for the weeks to come. The Jungle Book should end its run with 335 million domestic. Universal's $115 million budget Live-Action fairy tale prequel, The Huntsman:Winter's War bombed this weekend with an estimated $20 million opening weekend that's less than half of Snow White's debut back in 2012. Luckily The Huntsman has overseas but that will not be enough for Universal to scream and shout. With Captain America, coming out in two weeks The Huntsman will likely fall sharp off the tracks for the weeks to come. Look for The Huntsman to ends it run north of $50 million domestic. Last weekend's other release Barbershop:The Next Cut took a steeper drop for the Barbershop franchise and the drop was about the same as Beauty Shop from 2005. Look for Barbershop:The Next Cut to cut its way between $55-$60 million domestic. Other Disney champion, Zootopia took a solid hold this weekend and is now over $900 million worldwide! With only just Angry Birds coming out on May 20th, and if you count Ratchet & Clank coming out next weekend there's not any completion for families to see. Look for Zootopia to end its run around $350 million domestic. Mellissa McCarthy comedy The Boss took a smaller drop this weekend which was slightly smaller than Identitity Thief, The Heat, Tammy's third weekend drops but was steeper than Spy's 3rd weekend drop. With Keanu coming out this coming up weekend and Neighbors 2:Sorioty Rising coming out May 20th. The Boss could still hold strong but could be Melissa Mccarthy's lowest grossing title in a lead role. The Boss should end its run close to $60 million domestic. Batman V. Superman took a smaller decline this weekend, and should have another smaller drop this coming up weekend right before Captain America:Civil War. Batman V. Superman should end its run around $335 million. Last weekend's bomb, Criminal had a so-so drop this weekend although it was better than Hardcore Henry's drop, or even 3 Days To Kill's drop. Criminal still remains to be Kevin Costner's lowest grossing title since Revenge back in 1990 and 3000 Miles To Graceland back in 2001 (although they had more attendance) and adjusting ticket price inflation is his lowest grossing film right behind 2008's Swing Vote. Criminal should execute its way to around $15 million domestic. Comedy sequel My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 took a solid drop this weekend, although not the level of the first film back in 2002. The film is sill quite a decent profit for Universal, and should end its run around $60 million. Foreign Language film, Compadres had a decent start for a film below 500 screens and should do alright in the long run but end its run around $5 million domestic. Eye In The Sky still remaining on the top 10 this weekend, and should end its run around $20 million domestic. While not too far Tom Hanks Middle East Drama debuted with an estimated $1.2 million domestic which isn't bad for a film also below 500 screens. The film could be a word of mouth hit but wil probably not be big in the summer season. A total around $8 million seems reasonable. Christian sequel God's Not Dead 2 making a decent drop, but isn't enough to be as big as its predcessors. So, a total around above $20 million seems reasonable.
  12. The Brady Bunch movie made some money for a dreadful beginning to 1995.
  13. TV adaptations are a mixed bag at the box office. The Equalizer, 21/22 Jump Street, and Star Trek franchise are the most sucessful in recent years, but it's 10 years too late. CHIPs should have been released back in 2006.
  14. Keanu:20 million, Mother's Day:9.8 million, Ratchet & Clank:7.5 million.
  15. Captain America:Civil War is going to debut with 170 OW and make 400 million domestic. Disney will be having their best year ever because it looks like on the yearly top 10 domestic they have 7 potential titles to be on the top 10 this year, and have 4 films to make a $1 billion worldwide.
  16. domestic total projections: The Jungle Book:305 million, The Huntsman:Winter's War:60 million, Barbershop:The Next Cut:60 million.
