  1. Next weekend's projections January 22-24(openers only): Dirty Grandpa:9 million, The 6th Wave:7.8 million,The Boy:7.3 million.
  2. It has the best reviews of the weekend yeah it lacks star power but it should be a profit.
  3. Next weekend should be quite exciting. 4 movies do 20+ each wouldn't be a surpise for the three-day weekend.
  4. no matter what either way Star Wars is still making money and is being #1 for 4 consecutive weeks(which isn't always easy) it has potential at making 920 million domestic. The Revenant is off to an impressive start with 38 million, if it holds up well the next coming up weeks it should end its run with at least 125 million and then enjoy some good results overseas maybe in the long run. Daddy's Home still doing decent and should make its way to 150 million. The Forest is off to a decent start but will probably disappear soon in the next few weeks and a total close to 25 million. Sisters still shining on the top five the film should get its way close to 90 million. As for The Hateful Eighf the film took a big decline this weekend considering mixed WOM the film will make 55 million total which is weak in comparison to Django Unchained. But on the other side, The Big Short is still holding strong and should make at least 70 million by the end of its run.
  5. MLK 2016 weekend(openers only): 13 Hours:45 million 3-day(54 million 4-day), Ride Along 2:38 million 3-day(44 million 4- day), Norm Of The North 10.2 million 3-day(14.1 million 4-day).
  6. The Revenant making north of 35 million (that's surpises me) the film should make over 100 million domestic. Star Wars taking a steep drop considering holidays are now done and over with should still maybe have a chance to 900 million domestic. The Forest will make its way to 10-12 million considering frontloading and should make north of 20 million domestic. Daddy's Home taking a hit but still making profit for both actors(Will Ferrell, and Mark Wahlberg) should end its run with at least 145 domestic. Sisters is still doing well should make its way to 90 million.
  7. I think January 2016 will come close to 2010's record. But February looks dead.
  8. Star Wars passes 700 million domestic this weeknend, it should end its run with about 960 million. Daddy's Home is holding strong I'm thinking a total around 160 million won't be too bad for it. The Hateful 8 is doing below expectations but should hold up decent and make around 80 million domestic. Sisters is holding stronger than expected it should end its run with 80 million total.Chipmunks not doing horrible but will still fall short of 100 million. Joy doing eh, it should end its run with 65 million. The Big Short still doing decent and with golden globes and potential Oscar award nominations the film could hold well going forward and end its run between 60-70 million domestic total. Concussion doing ok, should probably break even for the studio and be Will Smith's lowest grossing film ever. Point Break still flopping, should end its run above 30 million. Mockingjay 2 still doing ok should make its way to 285 million domestic.
  9. January 8-10 2016 (openers only): The Revenant: 28 million, The Forest:9.1 million
  10. Despite Star Wars breaking records, I'm surprised how Daddy's Home holds are, it should end it's run with 145 million domestic.
  11. I'm interested in seeing how Star Wars, Daddy's Home, and The Hateful 8 all hold up for the weekend and in the long run.
  12. Kind of, but not really. The third weekend could do probably about over 90 million if that's the case.
  13. The 3rd quarter thanks to a record breaking December in 2015 broke 2009's record. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/quarterly/?chart=qtd&view=releasedate
  14. The yearly record is also pretty good as well with a record breaking 11.1 billion and ticket sales on par with 2013. It also had the biggest increase from year to year since 2012!
  15. December 2015 sets the new monthly record thanks to Star Wars, Hunger Games, Daddy's Home, Alvin And The Chipmunks 4, Creed, The Good Dinosaur, Krampus, and Joy. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/monthly/?chart=mtd&view=releasedate
