  2. Iger and the head of Disney Studios at the time deliberately let the movie die by changing the original title of the movie (John Carter of Mars) and underselling the movie with awful trailer and posters that told you nothing about the movie. Iger knew he was gonna buy Lucasfilm that year anyway so he didnt care if the movie fail, witch is an injustice because that movie was one of the best sci fi movie ive seen.
  3. That scene and the annoying activist droid killed all my enthusiasm for SW or anything Lucasfilm made ever since.
  4. This. Michael Eisner may have done some big mistakes in the past (mainly the direct-to-video sequels fiasco), but he gets a lot of unfair bad rep. We got so much variety of content back then.
  5. The original trilogy may have had goofy moments but the practical effects and the onscreen stuntwork made those set pieces believable. The raft in Temple Of Doom for example, was a real raft dropped from a real plane with dummies on it to make it look like Indy, Wille and Short Round are there and it works, you believe it. An old Indy surviving a nuclear bomb inside a fridge without a single scratch is a bit too much even by Indy standards, and it doesn't help the overuse and abuse of CGI that makes the whole movie (and the fridge scene) look too fake and artificial.
  6. Mangold should just stick to medium budget dramas, where he truly excels at. Hell, Logan feels like an indie character driven drama at times instead of a superhero movie and it worked wonderfully. Ford V Ferrari is his best film. Maybe a corporate behind the scenes drama of a real life company in the style of Succession could be a better fit for him.
  7. Satoshi Kon is still my favorite anime director. Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika are all top tier masterpieces. I'm sad that he passed away so early.
  8. Suzume and RRR are the best cinematic experiences I've had in years. I truly believe in a decade or so Asian cinema and television will take over Hollywood as the main source of global entertainment if they keep up that insane amount of quality.
  9. As a big anime fan myself, I think a straight up animated romantic comedy in the style of Kaguya Sama: Love Is War could do gangbusters if done and marketed correctly.
  10. Japanese studios tend to really underpay their artist, hence why they are so cheap to produce compared to western productions.
  11. Todd Philips gave us Joker. That alone made me forgive him for those horrible Hangover sequels.
  12. TOP 10 Venezuelan Box Office from June 22th to June 25th: 01.- ELEMENTAL - 32.307 tickets (New) 02.- SPIDER-MAN ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE - 12.408 (-30,5%) (183.554) 03.- THE FLASH - 10.977 (-43,7%) (46.390) 04.- TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS - 6.202 (-38,3%) (61.164) 05.- FAST X - 5.931 (-29,1%) (294.895) 06.- THE LITTLE MERMAID - 5.864 (-32,3%) (168.398) 07.- THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE - 1.692 (-28,3%) (1.225.382) 08.- LA CHICA DEL ALQUILER (Local Movie) - 1.403 (-14,8%) (18.169) 09.- SKINAMARINK - 1.204 (New) 10.- SPINNING GOLD - 240 (New) Source: ASOINCI, A.C.
  13. Grand Budapest Hotel is the only Wes Anderson movie I saw in a theater. What an awesome movie. I also really liked Isle Of Dogs. The French Dispatch I found it to be really boring in comparison, so much so I fell asleep. Never bothered to rewatch the parts I missed.
  14. A Live Action Black Lagoon adaptation written by Tarantino or Edgar Wright would be amazing to watch.
  15. I just realized that Spiderverse 2 will probably surpass The Smurfs (563 million worldwide) this weekend to become the highest grossing Sony Pictures Animation movie of all time. I'm still baffled to this day that the Smurfs grossed that much money 12 years ago.
