  1. This movie felt rushed and incomplete. I'm not a fan of how the french speak like british people. I can forgive that kind of stuff for older movies but in a world where we have big budget Mel Gibson movies like Passion Of Christ and Apocalypto (Or more recently Thirteen Lives) where the characters speak their native languages during the whole movie, and long segments like that with Inglorious Basterds, having a movie set in france where they all speak english rubs me as lazy and not trusting your audience enough. Also, Im not a big fan how they make Napoleon a pathetic little man. I love Joaquin Phoenix but the more I think about it the more I'm convinced he was not the right fit for the role, though he clearly tried his best. Maybe they should have split the movie in two parts a la Kill Bill, but I'm not sure If a 4 hour cut will fix the problems I have with this movie. But to be fair, those battle sequences are truly glorious to behold and worth the price of a movie ticket. This movie could have been better, but it had its moments. 6/10
  2. I had a feeling Napoleon would beat Wish at the box office for weeks. This is great for adult cinema.
  3. I haven't seen this movie yet, but even then I have a hard time believing this is somehow worse than Strange World.
  4. Probably a dumb question but, is this movie going to keep the 20th Century Studios logo or are they just gonna ditch it out and just put Marvel Studios?
  5. Shit. I saw a trailer for this movie when I went to see KOTFM and I got interested in seeing it. This is a very David Zaslav move from Disney and I hate it.

  7. I'm not ready to call Marvel dead yet because we still have Deadpool 3 coming up next year (thank goodness), but yeah, the brand is really on life support right now and drastic changes needs to be made. Kevin Feige was succesful in the past because he was kept in check by a creative committee that made sure the movies where appealing and marketable in the toy industry and Ike Perlmutter made sure the budgets where reasonable. Ever since Iger got rid of Ike and the committee, and made Feige unchecked and unbound, the quality has gone way down, the toy sales are down and now the ratings in D+ and the box office has gone down, and the budgets are way out of control. I know creative control and no studio interference sound lovely for artists and I support that, but too much creative control can lead to this kind of situation. Kevin Feige was no messiah, he was just really lucky to have insanely talented artist like Jon Favreau or James Gunn to make the MCU what it was.
  8. This movie looks surprisingly good, witch gives me a bit of hope. But Pixar sequels outside of Toy Story 3 have disappointed me greatly in the past and Docter is not directing this one, so I'll be cautious with this one.

  10. This is nonsense, there's trailers for this already. It should have moved to June 2024, not 2025.
  11. As someone who loved this movie so much to the point I think KOTFM is better than Oppenheimer (another 3 hour drama movie), yeah, I really think we should bring back Intermissions for really long movies. Not only makes for a better experience for your bladder, but it also increase the popcorn sales at the movie theaters (where the real money is for theater chains).
  12. This is going to be Indy 5 all over again. Reshoots and delays to try and "fix" the movie only to bomb hard at the box office anyway.
  13. For a second a thought the title said Five Chip's at Derby's. lol.
  14. Lily Gladstone should be a locked win for Best Actress. I just cant see another performance being better than that this year.

  17. I've never doubted DiCaprio's box office power, and I ain't gonna start now. I truly believe we are gonna see a repeat of Wolf Of Wall Street kind of BO run. Though with that runtime, an Intermission would be nice for many people's bladders.
  18. I'm pretty sure this thing will go way below 25 million this weekend. Regardless of the movie's quality, Swift is really sucking the air out of every single movie and it hasn't even come out yet.
  19. Studio Ghibli signed a partnership deal for global distribution for 15 years with the company from 1996 to 2011. Disney also agreed to finance 10% of all of their movies production cost during this period. I really hate what the mouse has become so I don't disagree with Miyazaki's comments, but if it weren't for that Disney partnership, Ghibli would not be globally recognized and mainstream as they are today.
