Thanks... The movie is doing well in the UK in early numbers (already 2.35 million in Monday-Thursday), also doing good in Australia in early numbers, when I go on vacation to Mexico I often hear Whitney music playing in clubs, stores, etc. so who knows... Yeah I only see "in 2023" listed for Mexico so far, so hopefully they announce the release date soon...

Am I understanding that Whitney did 340k + 525k + 540k = 1.4m in 3 days? Thanks

Stop hating on Whitney you troll. Whitneys biopic hasn’t even been released in most markets yet until next week, such as the UK, Australia, and many places. She is also 10 times bigger, more talented and with more iconic songs than Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, etc. And finally the music biopics are not how you start comparing artists because otherwise based on that logic Queen would be like five times bigger legend than Elvis and 100 times bigger than Tina Turner or James Brown which is not the case. A lot of it has to do with timing, which studio, how its promoted, the critics, recognition of actors and director, the competition like Avatar 2, etc. Stop making a fool out of yourself, and stop hating on Whitney, which is in big part why she’s not with us because of people like you and the media hating on her over and over. And for the record, I have never heard of those two “memorable” songs that you mentioned. 🙄

Fantasy is not better than I’m Your Baby Tonight or I Wanna Dance With Somebody or My Love is Your Love or I’m Every Woman or tons of other songs. 🙄 One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love For You, I Have Nothing, Greatest Love of All, Didn’t We Almost Have it All, You Give Good Love, All The Man That I Need, etc. I don’t even know when to stop… Just say that you are not into Whitney and her music and stop talking nonsense that she doesn’t have a single great or memorable song. 🙄

Does anyone know what they mean by the part that I highlighted in red (from Deadline)? I Wanna Dance With Somebody from Tri-Star/Compelling Pictures/Black Label is looking at $2.2M today (including last night’s previews), $6.3M for the weekend and $9M over 4 days at 3,625 theaters. Sony is getting a distribution free for handling with financiers recouping the P&A spend. Rotten Tomatoes critics don’t like it at 46%, but audiences love it at 94%.

Puss in Boots 2 has a 90 million budget and God only knows how much in P&A so it probably won't be profitable. Whitney & Babylon are not in the same category because Babylon has a much bigger budget. I'm interested to see the international numbers first for all these movies. I feel that Puss in Boots 2 and Whitney could end up being somewhere in the middle (basically being neither a hit or flop) depending on how they do in the upcoming weeks, but Babylon unfortunately is a flop and has zero chance...

I Wanna Dance With Somebody - 7:10 pm showing - 15 people Montreal (region) Canada Trailers shown: - Magic Mike's last dance - 80 for Brady - A Man Called Otto - Missing A few laughs at some funny moments. A few times I heard some whispers after certain scenes like "oh god did he really say that!?". Overall cute little movie that is a good balance between the good and the bad, and Whitney's singing sounded amazing in theaters!
