When was Disney a rival to Spielberg? (Except when he still owned DreamWorks Animation)
Hell he even produced Roger Rabbit.
Yeah that has a lot to do with it plus most of his major movies were not with them. Its not like a major rivalry or anything but there have been plenty of tense moments between the two companies.

X3 isn't even that bad!
It's not, if I remember correctly that second weekend on mojo was pretty similar to what's happening here. Just a mind numbingly bad set of numbers.

Even back in the day, he never struck me as much of a comic-book guy. He was more into classic action/adventures, a la Bond and those old-school serials.
I think the fact that he is going to work with a rival most of his career in Disney to make IJ5 with an almost needing a cane Harrison Ford (love him but he will be ancient by the time filming wraps on this) tells you a lot about what he's passionate about.

I think he was drunk when he made Spidey 3 -- LOL
If you can go 2/3 quality films & 3/3 BO success in a trilogy that's mighty impressive. It's tough to do. Spidey 3 was a lot more (unintentionally) funny than I realized. I laughed at most of the "serious" parts.

I like Raimi, but his time has come and passed with comic book movies.
I would love to see Spielberg direct a big comic book movie.
I think that time has passed as well, can't see him getting involved in any of the current franchises.

The 81% Friday drop is on the front page of Yahoo.
Lucky for Warners no one goes on that site anymore other than to check their email, the weather or their fantasy sports team .

Affleck has a lot going on right now, not sure he's the best person to take over & be the leader of the entire project as easy as it may seem.

One of the great joys of being a movie fan is seeing something you have little or no expectations about and being blown away. I don't even remember why I originally saw IRON GIANT (not a big animation fan, Brad Bird was a no-name) -- maybe I read some good review of it or something. But damn, what a great, great movie.
BB is way too talented (& busy with Incredibles 2 I imagine) to get involved with JL, but hey... I'm sure Kevin Smith is free. Just as long as Jay & Silent Bob get their cameo.

My franchise really is better than your franchise.
Yes we know HP & THG are the best, everything else is crap.

Iron Giant is one of the best animated movies I've ever seen, the whole "what if a gun had a heart?" concept was executed so well. Gets me emotional every time I hit the ending.

They had Topher Grace play their main villain, fricking Eric from That 70's Show. People actually were expecting it to be good too, rofl.

Oh come on he Sam fucking Raimi. If he was doing JL I would jump all over that shit.
Do we really need more of this?

Sam Raimi makes sense as a hypothetical Snyder replacement until you remember his last CBM was Spidey 3. Puuuuke.

I like having a place that isn't IMDb to discuss the numbers in fairness cause that place is just awful.

Cause generally CAL we deal with movies that are already done or people don't root against movies that are 2 weeks away from shooting. If JL was like a year away from beginning shooting, Tele wouldn't be saying anything.
I guess I'm sort of miffed at how rooting against BvS translates to you like jobs being killed due to JL potentially getting shut down. Its never been that way here for most if not all of us. People just don't like this and/or MOS & don't want to see anymore Snyder adaptations. It seems pretty simple.

It will be hard for them to find another job. They will be unemployed for a big part of the time they were meant to be working in JL.
Serious ?, since when has potential job losses been apart of our BO analysis on here or on mojo? It sounds so absurd that it suddenly matters so much.

Rival sports teams generally don't fire lower level employees due to bad performance? As for political candidates, well I think the stakes are a little higher there than entertainment.
The lowest level employee is always the most expendable is the general point. It's not any different in sports, business or the arts, doesn't mean rooting against success is somehow immoral. You may not personally like when others do that in whatever circumstance & that's your right.
