@CJohn is going to give us page after page of sad Afleck......
He wont be the only one, there are quite a few diehards who will have no way to spin this. At least CJohn is more realistic in his predictions.

There was/is zero competition tonight, just amazing.

To recap guys Deadpool's 2nd Friday $16.2m, BvS $15.5m... Story of the year both ways.

-
Two things we now know fairly confidently (if we didn't already)... Critics were right in their overall assessment & they likely did have an effect contributing to the negative WOM.

This is why some of us tried to warn the rest of you this singular movie being profitable really doesn't mean much when you have an entire looming franchise built on this.

God save the forums.
I'm going to bed.
Me thinks it's going to end up with 16M. 15M would be way too low.
Hilarious how this thing was propped up to this point on here, no saving it anymore. Dam is about to break.

Plan F: "Families don't see movies on Friday. It'll jump 80% on Saturday!"
There is no denying now WB has more of a problem than solution on their hands. OS & now domestic drops last few days are nearing historical levels. Enjoying this a lot.

everyone got wrong today it seems BvS looking like only going to do about 15, Zoo 5.5
If that isn't April Fools, holy bleep the collapse is real.

Months? Who cares what's going to happen when both of these movies can't even make $100k on a weekday?
A site that goes in depth on box office numbers? Do you know where I can find such a place?

Now that is optimistic for Zootopia. If I had to bet my money, I'd say that will never happen, and I'm probably the only Zootopia fanboy on this site.
It will definitely happen at some point IMO based on BvS harsh drops, question is whether it's weeks or months.

2016 is way ahead of 2015 right now.
2016: 2764.9 M
2015: 2460.2 M
As it should be man right? End of year is far more in ?

Days to Zootopia overtaking BvS dailies?
-
I've said this a bunch but man was I wrong on Zootopia, what a beast. If we didn't have Deadpool going nuts this would easily be the story of the year so far even w/ BvS opening in the books.

We don't yet have a sense of whether BVS is a weekend movie or not. If it isn't, then yes, it's probably at something in the 350m range. If it is, then 370M or so may still be in the cards. Friday and Saturday jumps will tell the story.
Your ceiling right now is $370m? Yesssssssss.

Its not blind anger @nilephelan its just enough is enough. We've been dealing with this for two weeks.
You post here sporadically so you dont know all that goes on. This BvS hate and vitriolic Regan Exorcist vomit filled regurgitation that we deal with every FRIKKIN day is annoying.
Despite what he says here, you are still allowed to dislike BvS & post about it as long as it's not a fanboy war basically. To say anything else is über silly.

Not familiar with Chinese drops but wow that's awful. I think we're in for under a bil WW if we see even close to this carnage continue in the more developed markets.

Really? I think it's going to be higher, 65-70. At least tracking is strong for it.
No way it's this high, $60m is even tough.

So this is following Iron Man 3's path with terrible reviews, which is still pretty impressive... Now imagine if it was actually good
IM3 was much better recieved, they aren't really in the same league.

I see CJohn meltdowns are now a daily "feature."

My first instinct was that this is a lousy number. On second thought, though, it doesn't seem that awful. Basically, on a "more normal" week, we'd have seen a slightly harsher Monday drop, a lighter Tuesday drop, and a 31-32% Wed drop. BVS just took a slightly different route to the same end result.
Lol dude this is not a good Monday-Wednesday sequence, no other way to spin it.

The bar for success isn't Avatar and TFA.
It's other Warner Bros movies.
BvS will be one of WB's biggest films in history, it's a success for them.
It's a sequel to MOS and a Batman reboot, 900 m to 1 billion is a win for WB.
The ? now moves to the future as always, what will the reception be in the weeks/months ahead as we are setup for spinoffs & JL? If this collapses after that opening, it's obviously still a win for the studio but would leave a bad taste in their mouths going forward. They spent a ton to make & market this too, ROI % will be nice WW but nothing too crazy.

Insane the movies on the adjusted list this is in jeopardy of beating now, IM2, Batman Returns, & Superman 2 may all be safe.
