That's a really good Monday number all things considered.

Not true? It can be hard sometimes to tell which ideas are good on paper and which ideas are good to execute but...people do sometimes know when they are following bad ideas. They just don't have the power to stop it.
Donald Trump?

It never fails does it? Everytime a record falls, the "Tickets Sold" argument people come into the threads.
Argument or statistic? To say inflation/surcharges don't matter in looking at the bigger picture in the relevant time periods is doing a disservice to your analysis.

Spectre expanded from 9 to 14 theaters, WHAT A BEAST.

This will easily cross $500m DOM. It doesn't get any bigger in cartoon-land than a movie with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman as the three stars, uncluttered by anyone else.
Proof is that it isn't a very good film, far inferior to the three Bale Batman movies, and yet it will outgross DOM at least two of them, and WW all of them.
This has a good shot of not reaching $400m domestic, not sure why you think that.

$420m WW open, 420!!!

there really, really should be a BvS over/under Deadpool thread
make it happen Tele (or CJohn or Baumer or whoever)
Couple things, there is an informal rule that you don't start total clubs/comparisons after projects have released. 2nd we have this:

It's actually nine people since Wednesday. Three of them have already been reinstated, though.
BKB, Kal together at last.

It's not possible BKB & Kal both got suspended for the same few days...

Well you're just in the minority for Hangover 2. It's the highest grossing comedy of the decade so far.
Hangover 2 was totally built on the good will of the first. That's the point, it was so bad many wondered why a third entry was necessary.

WB did create an overwhelmingly popular original film series near the turn of the decade. Hangover. Then they fucked it up with the third movie. It's like they knew it was so bad so they advertised it as the "final chapter".
It was one movie, the 2nd/3rd were total shit.

It will have 0 effect on Civil War. 0.
Civil War will explode based on fantastic marketing campaign and hype around Spider-Man.
I think it's going to be successful as well, should be close to BvS.

Ultron and BvS are both flops. The DCU and the MCU are both sinking into oblivion
The truth is we are about to discover how hurtful AOU was in a few weeks with TA 2.5.

What are the major markets it hasn't opened in? Let's remember that despite opening $50m lower internationally MOS finished with a 56.4% OS share after it expanded into more markets.

Lol, some people here (cough cough) put it in low 300s....
It opened most major markets though?

I'm sure its been noted repeatedly already ... but (sarcastic) round of applause to WB for giving that nice round $170.1 mil estimate they know is not going to hold up.
"Just call it $170, its close enough. Nobody will notice when it drops down to $167 on Monday"
Industry people will pay attention if it falls below HP8 simply because Time Warner won't be able to claim it was their biggest opening ever.

Plenty of people actually. A lot of people doubted a 400M WW opening.
Lol why though? There was no doubting the open would be stronger OS & the US total most predicted $150-$200m? Doesn't seem unreasonable at all.

Warner Bros biggest franchises:
DCEU
Harry Potter spin offs
Kong/Godzilla
Lego
They have alot riding on DC.
Im not liking that IP collection vs Disney but maybe that was always going to be the case. They are gunning for clear 2nd place over Fox & others.

I don't remember anyone sane on here saying this wouldn't expand overseas, do you?

He isn't, though.
A lot of people have no idea who he is, the term "icon" is thrown around way too casually.

Tuesday: BvS 12.2m (DHD) 19% drop from Monday

That's a bigger drop than I was expecting after the Monday hold, puts a mid 60% drop back in the cards. Could be worse.
