  1. Scream 3 is Scooby Doo excellence. It's so much fun.
  2. The closet death in Scream 4 was very violent (and mean spirited, but I wont get into another Scream 4 rant).
  3. The thing with Wanda is that we've spent more time with her now than maybe anyone else. Episode 8 of Wandavision was a 40 minute dive exclusively into her trauma. There was a lot of time for people to become attached. And for all the complaints about the finale (a lot of which are completely legit) its decision to focus solely on Wanda was completely the right one, and I think people are coming around to that after Loki and Hawkeye sidelined their main characters quite a bit at the end. I don't know how this all translates to the GA, but I do feel like people have genuinely connected to Wanda. It seems to go way further than 'I like this person and want to see more of him/her' - there's a real investment.
  4. I don't think I've ever been so entertained.
  5. I imagine the plan is for Keaton to bow out of suiting up in this one and for him to become a mentor figure in subsequent movies. This way there's nothing to distract from Battinson and we get to explore more of the Batman mythos with Keaton. And if people can't buy a seventy-year-old Batman (as if a thirty-year-old Batman doesn't require all the suspension of belief in the world), wait till they see what this Flash fella can do.
  6. When I got the trailer at Spider-Man, there was wild cheering at Wanda's appearance and nada for anything else.
  7. I definitely looks good, but I don't see what the hook is. Batman, for better and worse, has always inspired really idiosyncratic takes, and this seems the least distinct so far tbh.
  8. Affleck wanted out so WB needed a Batman who people would instantly get behind but who wouldn't at all distract from Battinson. Pretty much everyone at least likes Keaton in this role. He's also, you know, an incredible actor. It'll take one scene from this for everyone to be on board. Batman fans just love to yap.
  9. Bale took over as most people's favourite Batman, as did Oldman as Gordon, as did Caine as Alfred, Ledger as Joker...but Hathaway didn't. There are a dozen reasons for that, but the main one is probably that her movie isn't even slightly interested in her. She has screentime but nothing to do. Her relationship with Bruce is reduced to 'Bruce just knows Selina can be good' because Nolan's only interested in Bruce's side. Bruce tries to talk down Selina in Batman Returns, too, but it's allowed to be more because Selina is a fully fledged character who actually exists outside of Bruce. What's more, she tells Bruce where to go, kills the main villain anyway and isn't punished for it. The movie is 100% with her. Not because she's the love interest, but because the movie is genuinely invested in her. God that movie rules.
  10. No celebrity death has affected me the way Craven's did. Listening to his interviews/commentaries as a kid (during which he'd intellectualise the brutal and violent material in his films with more passion and insight than...anyone else I'd listen to) was very formative for me.
  11. The doubling down on May being Peter's moral compass really rang false to me given how they've actively avoided any meaningful drama with her before this (her character had never moved beyond the really gross 'hot Auny May' thing). The actors sold it about as well as they could, but it didn't have the heft it felt like it should.
  12. Yes, Garfield was great, but how is this thread not 13 pages on Willem Dafoe? There are a million ways for that character to be lame as hell and he dodges every single one. There is no shortage of actors who can pull off Spidey. That's not at all the case with Goblin. The way he can instantly become endearing or terrifying in just a second is something else.
