It would be nice if at least Book 6 came out before the show catches up to it. Then they could semi-improvise for the last season as that wouldn't matter much. I remember the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World being made before the last volume of the books came out. It worked because the movie ending and book ending were slightly altered but both were equally fascinating in their own way. I expect the same for GoT/ASoIaF.
I really love the way the show is developing the Tyrells, especially Margaery and the Queen of Thorns. I loved the Tyrells in the books but they were underdeveloped because we only saw other characters' views on them. Everything else was open to interpretation. But the show is taking my best suspicions about the family and making it canonically true. Hope House Tyrell's popularity on the show makes GRRM give them a more prominent role to play in the latter books.
I still remember when my non-book reading friend was completely shell-shocked after Ned's death and was all "I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE THEY DID THAT!!!!" and I was all, "Oh, you just wait..."
F&F when they brought back Vin and Paul together, along with Jordana Brewster. Fast Five was the franchise picking up speed after it was already turned in the right direction.
It's also because superhero franchises are some of the biggest franchises out there right now. It's only when a movie explodes or is anticipated fiercely when merchandise related to it sells. I doubt Green Lantern and John Carter memorabilia ever flew off shelves.
^Did they ever say PotC 3 will be the end? I mean, the Fountain of Youth was referenced right there in AWE. And I would be cool with a 20 year gap between now and TH4 like Indy 3 and 4.
Stan Lee is the best thing that happened to the WORLD! May he live another 100 years for the enjoyment of future generations to come and may he have a million movie cameos!
Amazing concept and the movie has an amazing trinity of my favorite critically acclaimed actresses- Tilda, Octavia and Alison. I hope this gets a date soon.
The whole "Is Spidey Freak iJack?" thing so damn ridiculous that I have never really bothered to pay any serious attention to it. I am my own person and if you can't see that, then that's not my problem, sorry.
