  1. Secret Wars will be what MOM was expected to be with variants galore so will most likely be the biggest film since Endgame. As for Kang Dynasty, Ultron numbers should be considered a major success without China.
  2. TBF to her she has shut up... which apparently is an incredibly hard thing to do for people even if their career is at stake (Gina Carano) or their franchise is circling the drain (JKR)
  3. I don't get what the issue is here. The word "Impressive" may be a tad hyperbolic but this is the highest number for a lesser known DC character. Even Suicide Squad needed the Batman/Joker inclusion to explode. DC themselves are well aware that they haven't earned the Marvel effect of automatically turning every C/D-Lister into BO gold based on brand recognition yet, hence the 11 million iterations of Joker at the same time.
  4. Even Disney Animation with Frozen director Jennifer Lee taking the reins. My only reservation is over the possibility of Gunn packing the roster with his buddies, some of whom are really mediocre *cough* the Brightburn team *cough*
  5. Not the trigger for this entire world war being a rich kid losing control of his car
  6. "should be doing" is still just based on hypothesis when it comes to The Rock because even Hobbs and Shaw couldn't crack 175M, let alone 200M, despite those characters already being pre-established onscreen unlike Black Adam and having a few summer days to boot. Having said that, do I agree that BA could have opened even higher with good reviews? Yes absolutely. But highest opening for Johnson where he has the top most billing is still a solid win.
  7. Rhaenys is kind of full of shit. Alicent offered her a chance to join the Greens in exchange for Driftmark passing directly to Baela and Rhaena, versus Rhaenyra's more compromised offer of the girls wedding Jacaerys and Lucerys in Ep 8. If Rhaenys really believed what she told Alicent of women seizing power for themselves then she would have taken Alicent up on her offer lol, instead of agreeing to her granddaughters being the wives of Rhaenyra's sons. It's not Ep 9 but Rhaenys and Corlys's loyalty to Rhaneyra and Daemon despite of what happened to Laenor/Laena that has me in disbelief, but that is an issue that has spilt over from the books.
  8. I don't think her screentime in TSS was less than in the original film (well, the final theatrical cut made by the trailer company anyway). The sequel used her very effectively. I just think Robbie's version of the character skews younger in appeal so appearing in TWO R-rated films wasn't the best choice on her (and WB's) part.
  9. Hollywood gave him the Adam West treatment after Craig's grittier, darker Bond took off, so it's great to see him not just back in a blockbuster but playing a superhero at that.
  10. Stuart Little pushed it into the time spiral in 1999 to eliminate the competition
  11. Stone and Lawrence aren't comparable because Stone hasn't received the level of dramatic opportunities as JLaw and JLaw hasn't received the level of comedic opportunities as Stone. I didn't realize it until she pointed it out in her Vogue YouTube interview but it's wild that Lawrence hasn't gotten a comedic role that fully utilized her public persona. DOR's misogynist "crazy lady" caricatures don't count.
  12. I wonder if Fire Island would have fared better at the BO if it had received a theatrical release.
  13. Wakanda Forever release on Black Adam's FOURTH weekend. If BA flops with an Oct 21 release date, it would've flopped with an Oct 7 release date too.
  14. His entire point was to feature an all-queer main cast, even the ones playing straight characters. Casting a Hemsworth as his love interest would've been antithetical to the statement he was making about LGBTQ+ actors like Luke Macfarlane being punished for being out by not being afforded enough opportunities by Hollywood. Also the Hems is not really a consistent draw himself so it would've been a ton of negative press for weak returns. An LGBTQ+ romcom unfortunately has an incredibly steep uphill climb when it comes to theatrical because not only do people have more than enough alternative options on streaming but streaming also provides the safety and security of enjoying LGBTQ+ content in your own home versus being judged or spotted attending a theatrical screening, which, while sounds ridiculous on the face of it, is too much pressure for young people questioning their sexuality.
  15. Fellow Manhattan-based romcoms Raising Helen and Confessions of a Shopaholic cost 50M and 44M pre-2004 and 2009 respectively. Freakin Mary-Kate and Ashley's New York Minute cost 30M in 2004. These films aren't exactly made for just a dime and a wad of bubblegum. It's actually surprising that Eichner managed to keep the budget this low.
  16. Are we sure it wasn't just a case of the unwanted Lightyear being the wrong film to release in theatres? It got beat by Encanto and Turning Red pretty fast on the Disney+ weekly charts (making the decision to send TR straight to streaming all the more infuriating). Unfortunately, Stranger Things doesn't seem to be an Encanto or Turning Red.
  17. Kinda annoyed that Harry's acting career is flopping. Wanted Chalamet's scrawny ass to sweat a bit. He's getting a bit too comfortable just winging it in his blockbuster fare like Dune.
  18. But that's only due to Snyder getting kicked out which led to his fanbase turning their ire on WB management instead of participating in the endless flame wars against Marvel fanboys. All 3 MCU films this year will make the Top 10, The Batman will make the Top 10 and there's a good chance that Black Adam sneaks in too. Isn't 5 out of the Top 10 ENOUGH domination?
