    Considering Fox sent out a PG-13 cut to get approved over 2 months ago, and yet there’s still no announcements for release dates. Meanwhile, later summer blockbusters like FK and The Incredibles 2 already locked down their dates, I’d probably say it’s dead for DP2 in China.

    It’ll be within 5M of the low end of tracking though. While JL was nowhere near even the low end of most conservative tracking (at the time)

    Decrease openings in a few European countries that had reported numbers so far, Australia too it seems. About double DP 5-day OW in South Korea so I can see overall increases in Asian territories. Ditto increases for Latin America as well if numbers from other countries follow suits with early figures from Chile, Argentina, etc...

    In case no one has answered you yet, Marvel brings out the 4-quad family on Sat like Golden Coral/Luby’s lure out the old people with their Early Bird specials.

    I mean, I see what y’all saying. And the fact that Memorial Day is TA’s 4th weekend while for IW, it’s the 5th weekend throw off the comparison a little. But still, DP2 should still be pulling in 50M+ weekend, and Solo 100M+, so I’m a bit skeptical in calling sub-30% drops. I think I’m more comfortable in projecting weekends once we have dailies for up to Tuesday at least.

    I can maybe see under 30% drop over 4-day. But for 3-day? No way, even The Avengers dropped 34%, and its biggest competition was MIB3, which only opened to 50M+.

    I think DP2 is in good position for decent multi. Solo is not direct competition, and it has lower than expected buzz, so the Memorial Day holiday drops will be favorable to DP2 second weekend. Its third weekend also has no big releases. After that, summer weekdays kick in. I think Logan’s 2.55x multi is a good target. Would put it way up there in terms of legs for X-Men sequels.

    Did you do something shady around then? Cause considering the timing of that ban and how IW weekend shaped up, it seemed like karma was out to get you by preventing you from enjoying and gloating about it lol.

    lc7.5M means about $10M OW, that would be a ~50% drop in dollars from DP 4-day opening. Understandable considering the royal wedding, weather, soccer, etc... Weird that South Korea gonna be easily beating out UK for #1 OS opening market for DP2 after being so close with IW.

    GOTG2 with a bigger Sat increase dropped closer to 25% on Sun. Granted DP2 has slightly different time frame with more schools out and Victory Day on Monday, it could theoretically get a better drop. But by the same principle, Sat jumps could have been better too. Personally, I think if Sat actuals are closer to 41M, then Sun will drop closer to 25%.

    41-43M for DP2 is a 19.3-23% drop from Friday. Or a 18-24% increase over true Friday (34.7M) High end increase would bode better for Sun drop. But low end would indicate more frontloaded nature so even with Canada holiday, I don’t think Sun drop could get the below 20% needed for 130M.

    Very good chance actually. Only needs to drop 25% on Sun, which I think it’s gonna do better considering Monday is holiday in Canada.

    Great increase for IW. Decent for DP2. But it’s not getting over 130M OW even with the high end of 43M Sat.

    Civil War’s whole premise is about Steve Rogers going through a nasty divorce with Tony Stark, straight up said fuck it all over his ideals/reputations/responsibilities as an Avengers leader, abandoning half of his kids. All for an emo, not right in the head childhood ex. So yeah, I’d incline to say @Chewy is right about where their tendency lies.

    Hems has incredible comedic timing lol. That whole sequence was great. Mocking fun at the Hulk/Widow relationship while giving a shoutout to The Moment of Avengers (2012) with Loki’s exclamation of “that’s how I feel!” over Thor being Hulk’s rag doll

    I enjoyed it way better than the first. Better humor and timing. Much less grating and annoying, more characters driven. B+

    Eh, Hulk/Widow gave rise to the brilliant Thor/Hulk “the sun’s getting real low” moments in Ragnarok, so I allow it.

    No amount of good writings will convince anyone that flirting and hooking up with your deceased former love’s grandniece (right after the funeral no less, yuck!) is not icky and gross.

    I think going forward, Strange will more than likely be a better character in ensemble team up movies. As seen in IW, Cucumber is better at being more passive and reactive to other characters than being a leading man carrying the movie himself.
