No, not really. As popular as The Maze Runner is, September is still a really dry and bland month, box-office wise. Sure it may be the only big blockbuster this month but that won't be enough. It certainly has the potential to do around $25-30 million OW but I still see no way that it can reach $40 million.

A sequel to a very well received horror movie that was released on Friday the 13th (big part of the marketing campaign) and did half of the OW in that day and a kids movie.

My point is, yes, Baumer is correct, those were 2 very different cases from The Maze Runner.
