Why people don't like this movie? Nobody ever mentions it compared to other middle of the road Hitchcocks. People also look at it as the first of two consecutive big missteps in his Hollywood phase.

I thought it was terrific. The couple had chemistry together, the story wasn't another "innocent man chased by someone", the danger was palpable, great tension was provided by a precise direction that didn't always relied on conventional way of storytelling, the female lead wasn't as dependent of "her man" as other female leads in lesser Hitchcock movies, the couple seemed like a real couple instead of a caricature normally present in his past movies. But the biggest shinning moments were the scenes at the coffee shop and post office, Lila Kedrova gave a heartbreaking performance for the ages.

80/100

Only Topaz left now.

Thought I reviewed this or that must of been on BOM. Anyway very enjoyable film-saw it about 5 years ago and really enjoyed the acting and story. The Hitch cameo was amusing with the Hitchcock theme playing.
