Here is the first of three ties

24= FINAL DESTINATION- 51 points

The film was a surprise hit earning 112M on a 23M budget. This was the start of a new franchise. The film received generally negative reviews though that did not stop you voting for it.

Nominated for 6 awards including 3 wins for horror film and Devan Sawa's performance at the academy of science fiction, fantasy and horror films awards and breakthrough performance for Ali Larter at the Young Hollywood awards.

Talking about it starting a new franchise...

24= FINAL DESTINATION 2- 51 points

The next film in this franchise also got the same amount of points. Featuring more deaths and gloom, the second entry earned 90M worldwide. It also got the 2nd best critical reviews of the franchise.

Nominated for 4 awards including best action scene at the MTV awards and best horror/thriller at the teen awards

Now onto a haunted success.

24= THE GRUDGE- 51 points

A film I expected to be higher as it's known as a bit of a modern horror classic, haunted horror the grudge earned 187M on a 10M budget making it one of the biggest profitable films. The second entry faltered though.

Nominated for 10 awards including wins for bmi music award and best score at the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards.

I will post more entries in the next half an hour or in about 12 hours

Here is the second of three ties

21= Let Me In- 52 points

The 2010 remake of Let the right one in was fantastically reviewed by critics [89% on RT] but the film failed to ignite the box office. Though this film is thought of well by horror fans but undermined a bit because of the original which was universally loved by horror buffs.

Nominated for 29 awards including 8 wins with 4 for Chloe Grace-Moretz, 1 for Kodi Smit-Mcphee, 1 for Richard Jenkins, 1 for top independent film and another one for best horror/thriller film

21= SWITCHBLADE ROMANCE- 52 points

This film also known as Haute or High Tension was another film that did not break out box office wise but has a place in horror fans minds. It is one of only a few foreign language horror's on this list.

Nominated for 10 awards including 5 wins with 1 for Cecile De France at the Fangoria awards and four for De France, Alexandre Aja, make up and grand prize of European fantasy film in silver at the sitges- Catalonian international film awards.

21= THE THING- 52 points

The 2011 remake is a surprise entry on this list as it was not that well received by anyone. With a 35% rating on RT and a very frontloaded box office run, this one pales in comparison to the original but it obviously was enjoyed by some people as it's on this list.

Nominated for 3 awards which were best horror, best make up and best animated character in a live action motion picture.

THIS IS THE LAST OF THREE FILMS TYING FOR 1 PLACE. next results in 12 hours as I'm going to bed

19. BATTLE ROYALE- 56 points

One of the best reviewed films on this list, the film adapted from the 1999 novel of the same novel made a splash with 86% on RT. When released, it became one of the 10 biggest films ever in Japan. It's legacy is fantastic with people such as Quentin Tarantino claiming it as the best film he's seen since he's started directing. It has also made top horror lists, best 500 films ever and top 100 world cinema films. There was going to be a remake but it fell apart as the producers thought that because of the release of the hunger games, it would be seen as too similar.

Nominated for 15 awards including 8 wins with 4 coming at the awards of the Japanese Academy. It also won 2 awards at the Blue Ribbon awards

18. INSIDIOUS- 57 points

The 2011 horror is regarded as one of the best thrills of the past through years [mostly for it's beloved first act then it's pretty much hated second act]. The film was a major surprise at the box office earning a 4x multiplier from it's opening which is pretty much unheard of for a horror film. It earned just under 100M WW and it spawned a successful sequel. It also had a good 66% approval rating on RT.

Nominated for 9 awards including 5 wins with 4 coming at the Fangoria awards for Lin Shaye, best wide release film, Rose Byrne and best score. It's other win was for James Wan at the Neuchatel international fantasy film festival.

17. [REC]- 60 points

A modern horror classic among most people with magazines such as Vue magazine rating it 2nd in the top 5 modern horror classics, the Spanish film earned 32M on just a 2M budget. It got 3 sequels and an American remake [Quarantine]. It has a FANTASTIC 96% score on RT.

Got at least 20 nominations with 15 awards such as best film, best new actress and best director
