bcf26
I think the Top 2 would either be The Incredibles or Spirited Away. I think the top 6 will be Ratatouille, Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Toy Story 3, The Incredibles, and Spirited Away. Woah, most of them are Pixar movies. Films
6. FINDING NEMO- 299 points [15 votes] The 2003 Pixar animation [this is the 1st of 5 to come in the next 6] was a major box office and critical hit [99% on RT which is the joint best on the list]. It introduced us to the amazing characters of Nemo and Marlin but nobody could match the amazing Dory [who is getting the title billing role in the sequel in 3 years]. There was a 3D re-release and it is the 23rd biggest film of all time and the second biggest film of 2003. This is Andrew Stanton's first of two appearances on this list and it was the highest grossing Pixar film WW until Toy Story 3 overtook it. It has rides at Walt Disney Florida such as the seas with Nemo and friends, Turtle Talk With Crush and Finding Nemo- the musical which won an award. Finding Nemo remains a loved classic Pixar film and we only have to wait 2 and a half years for the sequel. Box Office: 70.2/380.8 [339.7 original run]/555.9/936.7 [including Finding Nemo 3D's run[. A major hit as described above and overseas territories it hit over 20m in- Australia, France [64m], Germany, Italy, Japan [biggest overseas territory with 102m], Spain and the UK [67m] Nominated for 74 awards including 37 wins. It won one Oscar for best animation and was nominated for original screenplay, original score and sound editing. It also had nominations at the Golden Globes for best motion picture: comedy or musical and the BAFTA's for best original screenplay. It won 9 at the Annie's, 3 at the DVD exclusive awards and many for best animation and best voice actor/actress. This is very likely it for today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZdpNglLbt8 Edited December 7, 2013 by HairsprayFilmsCatchingFire
Films
Well my computer crashed as I was about to post it earlier so I've had to re-write and here it is again 5. Ratatouille- 347 points [16 votes] The 2007 Pixar animation has the joint highest amount of people voting for it proving that it is still a Pixar Classic. It was Brad Bird's third directional effort [and his third animation] and the word ratatouille was spelt with syllables as well on the poster to help little children sound it out. The film introduced us to the fun Remy the Rat and Lifted was the short film that preceded this at the cinema. The trailer debuted with Cars though the scene it showed did not make it into the final cut. It was the second best selling animation on DVD in 2007 behind the amazing superb Happy Feet. It is the 6th biggest Pixar film WW and a video game was made of it. Box Office: 47/206.4/417.2/623.7. A mini disappointment at the domestic box office [11/14 in Pixar films] was saved by a superb international performance with highlights including France with 65M, Germany at 50M, UK at 48M and Japan at 33M. Nominated for 68 awards including 47 wins. It was nominated for 5 Oscars, winning one for best animated feature and nominated for original screenplay, score, sound mixing and sound editing. It also won best animation at the golden globes and the BAFTA's and 9 at the Annie's awards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yKqLNnxGZw NOW IT'S TIME TO GET RID OF WHAT IS LOOKING LIKE THE BIGGEST CONTENDER FOR 3/4 OF THE PEOPLE.
Films
WE HAVE OUR PIXAR TOP 3 4. SPIRITED AWAY- 392 points [13 votes] This was actually failing the top 25 before a massive boosts in the middle [along with Ratatouille] showed that both could end up being strong threats from the original 3 runaways but both dropped off at the end. The 2001 Studio Ghibli animation was distributed by Disney, is on the top 50 films you should see before you turn 14 and it is the most successful Japanese film of all time. Disney gave it a worse promotion then their B-movies in North America and the film has a coming of age theme. It was the first film to earn over 200M at the WW box office before opening in the US and has a 97% rating on RT. Box Office: 449,839/10/264.8/274.9. It did OK in North America and quite well in France and South Korea. It's biggest territory of course was Japan where it earned a mindblowing 229.6M total. Nominated for 55 awards including 36 wins. It's major wins were for best animated feature at the Oscars, 4 at the Annie's and joint winning the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. It was nominated for best film not in the foreign language at the BAFTA's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tAhCgNTmTc Top 3 later
The Panda
Spirited Away at number 4? It deserves better.
lolifofo
I'm happy with the results even though I wish Spirited Away wasn't in top-20 (maybe top-25). I'm not sure if Toy Story 3 or The Incredibles will win. *crossing fingers for Toy Story 3*
Films
Here in number 3 was the early front-runner 3. WALLE- 434 points [16 votes] The 2008 Pixar animation [which is my second favourite film of all time] is the second film on this list that Andrew Stanton directed. The kind sweet characters of WALL-E and EVE make this film. The film addresses environmental problems and was loved by critics [96% on RT] and audiences alike. WALL-E was paired with short film Presto for cinematic release and Burn-E on the DVD. The film was originally developed under the title Trash Planet and then wal-e. The trailer featured the amazing song- down to earth and Walle saying his name slowly is now classic. It required 125,000 storyboards and WALL-E appeared on 162 top 10 lists. A classic and amazing animation that should never be forgotten. WALL-E had a fantastic OW [63m] and held on well with a 223m total. It was 5th for the year of 2008 and was a big hit internationally [297m] for a great 521m WW total. It's biggest overseas territories were Japan and the UK with 44mand 41m. Nominated for 102 awards including 53 wins. It won best animation at the Oscars and was nominated for original screenplay, original score, original song, sound mixing and sound editing. It won best animated film at the Golden Globes and was nominated for best song and at the BAFTA'S, it won best animation and was nominated for two other awards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e16U8UsT4I Edited December 8, 2013 by HairsprayFilmsCatchingFire

lolifofo
Spirited Away > Everything Pixar has made with the exception of maybe Finding Nemo (which it is about on par with) Toy Story 1, 2, 3, Finding Nemo, and Up all have higher percentages of positive reviews AND average critic ratings on Rotten Tomatoes than Spirited Away. The only Studio Ghibli movie I like is Grave of the Fireflies. Actually, I love that one. It's a tear-jerking masterpiece. rukaio101
All Pixar films (except MU, BL, TS, C1&2) >>>> everything Studio Ghibli has made so far. Princess Mononoke > Finding Nemo > Castle in the Sky/Porco Rosso/My Neighbour Totoro/The Incredibles/Toy Story Trilogy > The rest Of course, IMO, Summer Wars and Wolf Children beat everything Pixar or Ghibli have done, but oh well.
