Les Mis is opening earlier now on Saturday 22nd December. Also, from Boxing Day half the VMAX screens at Event Cinemas are going to Les Mis and half to The Hobbit. Consider that the opening weekends of BD2 and Skyfall had all the VMAX screens to themselves.

We have two VMAX screens where I am. One is going to be TH 48FPS, and the other is going to be just normal 3D. Everything else apart form Les Mis and WiR are going to be squeezed hard.Where did you get that it is opening early? Though I'm not surprised.

Event/GU is selling tickets for Sat/Sun at most theatres. It will probably be technically classified as previews as there are no further shows until Boxing Day.

Les Miz yeah previews the Sat/sun suppose to be max 2 sessions each day (theatre with GC can run another 2), Xmas day is open 2,3,4 sessions, No word yet if Hobbit or WIR will run Xmas day

The hobbit is not getting any previews from what has been said at my work, all other releases are opening christmas day, wreck it ralph will be opening prior. Now to see if we get lea mis early too

Distributors would be crazy not to open films earlier than The Hobbit if possible.Get as much money in before TH takes it all away.

They open Boxing Day (day after Christmas) as its the busiest movie-going day of the year (99% of the time) and its at the start of a 5-6 week period of school holidays...Basically it's an extremely lucrative opening frame.
