quick summary:

 

* Frozen has had another great hold.  is on target for a total about 35m unless it finds an audience beyond the holidays.

* Book Thief & Saving Mr Banks both had strong holds.

* 47 Ronin flopped !  for a film budgeted with 175m it should have been opening at least triple this.

* Jack Ryan's opening was kind of ok.  it's much cheaper budget of 60m helped a lot but still i think it too was gunning for slightly more than it got here.

* the hobbit 2 appears on track for a total just shy of 40m at the moment.  it's kind of stabilised this weekend by dipping only 41% instead of > 50%  40m isn't dead, but DOS needs to turn things around at this point and with the holidays ending i don't like it's chances. 

* Finally Catching Fire has passed 39m.  it should surpasse Iron Man 3 now, but 40m looks gone at this point.
