Yeah 870k tickets was the data for the 12 biggest city of the country (Roma, Milan, Naples, Turin etc) but unfortunately we have no idea of the total, however some sources say that at the time they represented more or less 30% of the Italian box office and that would put it at 2.6/2.9M tickets and over 10M euros...

For some reason, they updated the Saturday June 11 number as below. The updated ones look more realistic as Saturday number.

Yeah I've read that the second biggest cinema chain in Italy sent the previous day's data a little late, therefore saturday's total gross of the top 10 went from 750k to 1 million euro

Yesterday Jujutsu Kaisen 0 grossed 120k and passed the total of Your Name, the film is now at 750k euros and I guess over 200M dollars WW

 

Starting from tomorrow (wednesday 15 June) the obligation of masks in cinemas and theaters will finally be lifted, obviously we couldn't do it at the beginning of May like normal countries and the result is that unfortunately the various Doctor Strange, Jurassic World, Top Gun etc all had numbers below their true potential 😕

Today we had a news from Crunchyroll Italia that thanks to its success Jujutsu Kaisen will remain in theathers at least until Sunday 19 instead of today, so 1M is now locked (and I'll go this saturday). And I've heard that the same announcement was given also in Spain

@Issac Newton  Some time ago you were interested in the highest grossing anime films in Italy, now I more or less have a list:

 

1) Capitan Harlock - 5.1 million

2) Pokemon 1 - 4.7 million (for Cinetel, more correctly over 9 million for Siae)

3) Pokemon 2 - 3.1 million (or over 6 million for Siae)

4) Final Fantasy - 2.9 million

5) Stand By Me Doraemon - 2.6 million

6) Dragon Ball Super: Broly - 2.5 million

7) Spirited Away - 1.5 million

8)Doraemon Movie n. 34 - 1.3 million

9) Doraemon Movie n. 35 - 1.2 million

10) Jujutsu Kaisen 0 - 1.1 million 

11) Howl Moving Castle - 1 million

12) The Wind Rises - 1 million

13) Dragon Ball Z: The Battle of the Gods - 930,000 (in just two days!)

 

It should also be noted that the Demon Slayer film was unfortunately distributed on Amazon despite having the potential to join the list, or that several important films have grossed around 700/800k euros with less than a week of distribution and with the right possibilities they would have definitely exceeded the million (I'm thinking in particular of Your Name)

Thanks, I see since there is a limited of source, I thought of collecting the admit numbers and applying a ATP (which is far higher for limited distribution) of that year, should give us some amount of accurate gross for particular film. In Europe, Warner Bros's Pokemon 1999, 2000 &2001 and Disney's Spirited Away will be easily be among TOP 10 Highest Grossing Japanese Film in any of European Countries (not to forget about recent tentpole - Dragon Ball Super Broly)

 

Hopefully, I expect to see good or at a general release in many European Countries. 🌼

I updated the ranking because yesterday I forgot a couple of titles, including the biggest surprise of the list: Captain Harlock which grossed more than in Japan!

Paramount's "Top Gun Maverick" lead marginally ahead of Universal's "Jurassic World: Dominion". Pixar's "Buzz: LightYear" won't hold #1 for long now.
