ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' becomes biggest 2024 film

Yup. As Cineguru put it, jan-feb have been weak mostly because of what has been missing than what released. The arthouse films truly overperformed here but they can't on their own make up for lack of blockbusters.

More than blockbusters, cause lately seems Italians are tired of cgi blockbusters too, the italian popular cinema is doing very bad numbers after the Cortellesi phenomenon.

First movie made 2.1M First weekend and 7.5M Total (3.6x legs).

Even with 3.1-3.2x legs this should make 11-12M final.

Yeah I think it will end at 11M too

Bob Marley in the meantime grossed another million and passed Rocketman, next is Elvis at 3M

The weekend jump was really good, I'm a bit concerned about the weekdays though. Hoping to see a good hold tomorrow.

Kids in Italy don't know this saga. Zendaya and timothee help but their impact has a limit.

So in the weekdays only evening shows will make good numbers cause Its audience work.

Wednesday will be big cause It's a day with promotiona for people in the universities.

Sat and sun will be almost the double of the First movie like it was for the First weekend.

Imo the first movie was damaged on sat and sun because of only 50% of the audience allowed. While in the weekdays is not a problem It was in the weekend. Cause last week the weekdays were almost on pair with the First movie, then sat and sunday made the double.

Well It's clearly starting to grew up. The movie has a day (+ previews) more than the First movie so this wednesday is bigger than the First wed of the first movie despite being a second week and not a first like for the first movie.

The weekend is gonna be rich. 7M+ already this sunday.

I've seen that for the first part of 2024 there are many anime re-releases, from Lupin and Captain Harlock movies to the Dragon Ball and One Piece ones, plus also Perfect Blue and some of Shinkai

Hoping that they'll make some money I will update the ranking again as soon as they've all finished, without forgetting that Spy x Family is also coming out

The zone of interest starts this new weekend with a +21% from last week reaching 3.4M dollars. Could close with this word of mouth at around 5.5M probably.

Poor things should reach this weeked 9M euros and could close at this point with 10M dollars total.

Today Dune will surpass the first movie.

Oppenheimer re-release added another 200k euros reaching 28.4M, enough to pass the terrible "Natale sul Nilo" in the 20th position of the official all time ranking (even if by estimates it's at about 35M...)

dune really tanked here. Weekends are still good but weekdays are playing like the adults movies, so kinda of weak. It still gonna make 10M with the easter weekend coming but not that more. Seems like 10.5M final is the more we can get.

And that  would be €3M+ than the first movie.
