CJohn
I think Lucy was the biggest OD of the year here today. It needs confirmation. I may know more tomorrow.

TServo2049
Whoa, HTTYD2 has been really popular in German Switzerland. As in quite a few smaller European markets (Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia), it's done better business than TF4.But even more surprising is that Italian Swiss total for The Other Woman. What the hell?
terrestrial
Whoa, HTTYD2 has been really popular in German Switzerland. As in quite a few smaller European markets (Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia), it's done better business than TF4. But even more surprising is that Italian Swiss total for The Other Woman. What the hell? You are aware about how small the Italian speaking quota in also rather small Switzerland is? => that are the admissions for the ~ green part in the south of Switzerland The linguistic region covers an area approximately 3,500 km² and has a total population of around 350,000 inhabitants, with the number of Italophones residing in Switzerland being 575,000 (about 7% of the Swiss population). Beside there are more Italian-Swiss speaking people in Switzerland than in that area, don't expect outside of that area to find a lot of cinemas who offer also Italian spoken movies, plus they do not have the possibility so many different movies at once, as smaller cinemas for so few people in such a strong mountain surface region spreading out => might not even have been screened everywhere. In the end it would be the same as if over 2.5m people would watch it in the USA, but imagine them to have to drive partly a long and difficult way to even reach a cinema and lots of snow / ice surprises on their way. Look up 'Tessiner Alpen' and watch the pictures for the search result or Wikipedia
TServo2049
My point was, I was amazed that The Other Woman is so popular in Italian Switzerland, when it doesn't seem to have done as well as a proportion of total moviegoing in Italy itself. terrestrial
But The Other Woman didn't even do that well in ITALY!!! The movie made nearly $2m in Italy, again you do realize the list is about admissions as in nearly 3000 tickets till now and not more? TServo2049
Yes I do. I was just surprised that it was the highest-attended movie in the top 10. Proportionally, it's doing better than anything else. Even if it's only 3000 tickets.Whatever, I guess I'm overthinking this. TServo2049
Why is the top-grossing summer release #8 for the year and only grossed half as much as the biggest release of the year-to-date? Is this a particularly bad summer BO, or is summer not a big movie season in Finland?
