Jessie
if a white guy created a white man only awards, we'd be racists And no I don't mean the Oscars lol
terrestrial
I see it this way: Less chances to get a movie-business education in a famous for quality school way less chances to get an in into the business whilst trying to survive with a low payed non-business job If gotten an in in average less chances to get paid in a way one person ot a family can live from it If still managed to get enough work to get interesting roles, usually ignored for nominations .... or even get an award So, some say Oscar... is an award with a sometimes only white, but usually too high percentage of white winners. So, you didn't mean the Oscars, but that award version does not only exist, but is also highly respected by many (not all). Where is the problem with some people trying to point out the actors/actresses, directors, movies,.... that did have performances usually ignored at not only a few nominations? See it as a list of the snuffed for reason xy movies / series / acors & actresses.... (there are also awards for female film makers or....) Or, what about Saturn Award, started as a Horror Award, now also Sci-Fi. All of them snobs of 'good movies / indipendent work? Look into the history, why did the awards created? Out of being annoyed to get ignored by the 'established' system. No difference.... A lot of websites, magazines,... do specialised Awards, polls, lists,.... Why try to speak down on any of them?
