There's more palpability in having Dwayne Johnson the rescue pilot and his family surviving than having John Cusack the limo driver somehow magically navigate a quickly crumbling LA.

Peyton ain't no Emmerich, dude doesn't have half of that guy's talent for this kind of stuff. Plus, everything aside from d porno is dreadful, horrible, no good. The whole dead daughter, divorce and evil soon-to-be stepfather subplots are bottom of the barrel of storytelling.
