Poll: When predicting, how influenced are you by others?

There are debates from time to time on how predictions can change based on what the forumverse thinks. Sometimes I follow my own analysis (and it hurts/helps) and other times I see what others think and I change my mind (and it hurts/helps).

What's your philosophy on what "should be"?

When it comes to crystal ball and armchair predicting, is it really more noble to allow others to influence you or stick with your gut?

Speaking of polls, there will be some kind of Oscar predict competition, won't there?

Yes, particularly for those who picked the last option. I feel compelled to explain it to them.

I would like to think I stick with my gut - probably why in general I never do great at the long range for the summer game. But outside factors can sway me particularly the type of buzz a film gets as we get closer to release.

I consider other people's predictions but end up going with my gut.
