Anne Krieps is being campaigned for lead, as well as Brooklynn Prince, instead of supporting like a lot of other people thought. Good for Hong Chau and Kristen Scott Thomas I guess. You mean Vicky Krieps, right? I looked up Anne Krieps and found a photographer.

filmlover
I'm actually starting to think Mary J. Blige will be the 5th nominee despite the anti-Netflix sentiment. The last spot is completely up for grabs and the year is stunningly low on POC contenders.
Eric Quinn
https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/10/tiffany-haddish-snl-oscar-campaign-girls-trip An interesting article about Tiffany Hadish and the possibility of her getting an Supporting Actress Oscar. I don't see it happening, but it was enjoyable to read.

I can't remember the last time an actor or actress burst onto the scene and announced themselves the way she does in Girls Trip. That said, I'm not expecting her to go anywhere beyond a possible Golden Globe nomination, unfortunately.
filmlover
I'm slowly starting to jump on the Tiffany Haddish train. Given the lack of potential POC nominees this year and her status as being the undisputed breakout star of 2017, a surprise nomination makes a ton of sense.
The Panda
I definitely think Haddish gets in now that she's getting some critical love. I also think Blige could sneak in as well.

WrathOfHan
Anyone expecting Haddish to show up at the Globes should stop now because Universal hasn't held any screenings for it
filmlover
The Tiffany Haddish craze was fun while it lasted. I think Metcalf has this in the bag now. Hong Chau, Downsizing Holly Hunter, The Big Sick Allison Janney, I, Tonya Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird Octavia Spencer, The Shape of Water
WrathOfHan
1. Allison Janney 2. Laurie Metcalf 3-5. Any combo of these 5: Mary J. Blige Hong Chau Holly Hunter Lesley Manville Octavia Spencer For now, I'm going with Spencer, Chau, and Manville with Blige and Hunter behind them. SLAM!
So Downsizing is an undeniable flop, and a likely non-factor in any other categories. I think Hong Chau' s chances have definitely lowered if they are still there at all.

filmlover
Final predictions: Hong Chau, Downsizing Holly Hunter, The Big Sick Allison Janney, I, Tonya Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird Octavia Spencer, The Shape of Water Shrug. Can't see much of a shake-up occurring here. I'd have more faith in Blige getting in over Chau if it weren't for the Netflix stigma.
That One Girl
Blige or even Haddish are definitely getting in over Chau.

SLAM!
At this rate, if it's not Haddish, and if it's not Blige, and if it's not Chau, then I think it's Manville from Phantom Thread. The Academy loves Paul Thomas Anderson, and many roles have surprisingly surged to nominations in the past.
