newbie BO buff
Indonesia prepares for a huge Wonder Woman opening today. I got tickets for my family for 9pm. A typical booking screen would look like this. (Gandaria City IMAX 9.15pm show, screenshot taken at 7am)

Really, really good actually. Wonder Woman lassoed 60% of screen real estate in grabbing this gross. With a one day admission of 300k, and coming in only second to BVS, makes me think that WW should be heading towards at least 3m admissions (Logan), maybe 4m, but not 5.4m (BVS). Numbers of screens is always a problem, as in just 5 days time the Amazonian will have to share valuable screens with Tom Cruise. Yesterday (June 1) was a holiday in Indonesia and I saw very solid booking screens all day. Must be a massive uptick in number of admissions. Wouldn't be surprised if WW collected a 5-day opening weekend admission of 1.5m (about $4m) or upwards. Definitely have a larger GA appeal than GOTG2 (3.4m OW). Should have no trouble breaking 1.5m admissions by the end of Sunday, for a 5-day OW north of $4m.

I don't know whether it's because of Tom Cruise or the Mummy franchise is actually quite popular in here. So no Cars 3 this week, no idea on why they don't release it this week. Maybe to avoid the crazy competition especially with TF 5 coming next week and probably DM 3 in 2 weeks.
newbie BO buff
Regarding Wonder Woman and the DCEU Movies. In its 12 days of release in Indonesia, Wonder Woman have snagged $7.1m. I am pretty sure it will pass Suicide Squad ($7.3m) and also Man of Steel (estimated to be around $7.2m). With its screens being robbed by The Mummy, it is very likely that Wonder Woman will not reach a potential $9.4m final tally (indicated by its OW). Maybe only $8-8.5m. BvS' number $14m is still unreachable. But it does give a strong positioning for Justice League, which I presume will open Indonesia on November 15, and will only have to share screens with Coco (will not be as demanding as The Mummy) until the arrival of Star Wars - The Last Jedi. So yeah, $15m or more for Justice League. Other DC Superhero movies for reference: The Dark Knight Rises $7.5m Green Lantern $451k (played off-schedule when Blu-Ray is already available) The Dark Knight $2.78m Superman Returns $2.68m Batman Begins $422k

As for Cars 3, probably they got confused on how to share screens with Wonder Woman and The Mummy still around. Best guess for the date would be close Philippines (August 23) or Singapore (August 31). newbie BO buff
And, while on the subject of Transformers ..... This franchise has a very good track record in Indonesia. Transformers 4 is still on the All Time Top 10. It is not surprising that local exhibitors choose to screen it day-and-date with the US despite coming in very close to Eid. Normally it's time for the local movies to shine during the Eid frame. Last year when Eid fell on July 6, Secret Life of Pets was evacuated from July 8 into late August while Ghostbusters was delayed for one week. The numbers: Transformers 1 $2.48m Transformers 2 $4.46m Transformers 3 $6.88m Transformers 4 $13.1m

John Rambo
Its Tom Cruise factor. Hes huge in Indonesia. JR2 had 1m+ admissions. Great for a below avg flick! Right from MI:GP till Mummy TC has decent gross in Indonesia! If this one had good WoM then pretty sure it would have come close to FF 7 and FF8 OW range!

Great for a below avg flick! Right from MI:GP till Mummy TC has decent gross in Indonesia! If this one had good WoM then pretty sure it would have come close to FF 7 and FF8 OW range! Spot on Sir, Cruise has always been a solid box office draw in Indonesia. However, I still don't think The Mummy will get anywhere near the latest entries in the FF series. The just seem to operate on an entirely different level. A new MI movie, however, might be in the 8-10m range. Tom Cruise Indonesian grosses: The Mummy - 4.4m (1.67m adm) Jack Reacher 2 - 3.04m (1.17m adm) MI Rogue Nation - 8m (3.25m adm) Edge of Tomorrow - 5.3m (1.88m adm) Oblivion - 3.27m (1.13m adm) Jack Reacher - 2.39m (773k adm) MI Ghost Protocol - 6.14m (2.51m adm) Knight and Day - 1.62m (666k adm) Valkyrie - 494k MI 3 - 2.32m War of the Worlds - 1.22m Collateral - 353k MI 2 - 1.4m MI - 1.99m Fast and Furious: 8 - 19.33m 7 - 16.76m 6 - 9.13m 5 - 3.16m 4 - 2.29m 3 - 958k 2 - 656k 3 -
