In my POV no material, incl 'cleaned up for younger', material should be allowed to be included, if its for an older age limit than the movie has people were buying the ticket for. When I saw AQM they had a trailer of Pet Sematary playing before. There were many, many parents with children in the theatre - that trailer must have been very frightening. Who knows if those parents are going to watch another movie like AQM with their children (even if I found parts of the movie not appropriate for those kids too...)

For the third Time IN a Row CAPTAIN MARVEL BUT the Media Pounce on Til Schweiger's "Record breaker"-the complete Top 20 of the German cinema charts: Quote So erfolgreich Honig im Kopf (7,3 Mio. Quote As successful as Honig in the Kopf (7.3 million visitors) was, the result of Til Schweiger's remake of Full of Honey can not be addressed nicely. 2,922 visitors in 311 cinemas represent the worst start of all time in the category in more than 300 cinemas as well as in more than 200 cinemas. Thanks to spring weather, the top ten fell by 29% compared to the previous week, compared to the same weekend 12/2018, when Peter Hase led the charts with 266,939 visitors, it was 13% down. Among holdovers, Captain Marvel showed a good hold (considering the other releases) and Bohemian Rhapsody and Der Junge muss an die frische Luft continue their head-to-head race. Next weekend: Dumbo will be the biggest new release and should take #1 but I doubt if it can reach Jungle Book's numbers; I see it opening in the 250-300k range. With little new competition and cool weather predicted for the weekend, most holdovers should see soft drops or maybe even increases. Btw, Austria's February numbers were depressing ... worst Feb ever and that coming from a baaad Jan, 1st quarter is officially declared dead. IndustriousAngel
opening day for Dumbo ... past noon already and a total of 20 seats sold for the 4 shows. Doesn't look promising but of course, with family stuff, you always have to wait for the weekend afternoons before declaring it a flop
el sid
According to the Thursday estimates Dumbo - only the evening was counted - did at least not bad and had over 13k admissions. We all know these estimates can be far off but other reports also don't look bad. Normally Germany is a good place for nostalgic films. Beauty and the Beast did fine, The Jungle Book was a success and even the changed, modest reviewed Nutcracker found its audience. I'm very curious about the actuals tomorrow. terrestrial
Quote Trend:According to the first trends, Dumbo has no difficulty in conquering the No. 1 position and heading for a weekend of about 225k visitors. With a strong family movie factor there would be even more in it, but the predicted nice weather at the weekend should push this factor down.Silver could also go to Disney as Captain Marvel is currently at 150k visitor course (1.68 million total). For Bronze We (135k) and The Goldfish (130k), both of whom would be winning excellent holds.Very well off the starting blocks is the concert documentary Because you only live once - Die Toten Hosen auf Tour, which could crack the 50k visitor mark in event leases similar to Free Solo in the week before. I had it pegged at 250-300kOW, so it's definitely below my expectations - not a flop but not very good either.
