Same goes for No Escape (german title: Follow Me), it's doing much better in Austria than in Germany (23k admissions vs. about 80k). Both releases should have at least twice the admissions in Germany under normal circumstances. (And the same goes for the New Mutants, only those numbers are so low statistics might be distorted)

New Mutants showed a comparatively good hold but after the terrible start, that won't save it from being a flop. Tenet is now over 1mil admissions and still has some gas in the tank, good result. Next weekend: Weather should turn movie-friendly, so probably good holds or even increases, especially for family fare. Among openers, the second Ooops! movie and romcom A Nice Girl Like You will probably be the biggest openers, plus maybe The Personal History of David Copperfield which should attract a neglected segment of the audience.
IndustriousAngel
so far, none of the openers is making any splash ... at my cinema, the best presales are for the one-show event of Bill&Ted.

IndustriousAngel
final estimates a bit higher (or a lot higher, for Ooops!2); Tenet now with an estimated 15% increase. On another note, in today's local paper there were interviews with local cinema mangers, one from the bigger multiplex in town (2020 sales estimated down 60%), one from the arthouse (only 25% of usual capacity sold) - both hope for public help https://www.tt.com/artikel/17373051/tiroler-kinos-vor-ungewisser-zukunft-hoffnungstraeger-james-bond The big problem is not only the spring lockdown and seating restrictions, the big problem is the absence of blockbuster releases. 2

Among openers, the 2nd Ooops! movie opened strongest as expected but WW2 drama Persischstunden had the best PTA (and good reviews, too). Next weekend: Not represented this week are the previews for next week's big opener, Jim Knopf und die wilde 13. They would have been in a contest for #3, so we'll probably have a new #1 next weekend, hopefully with >100k admissions (weekend only) and >200k including previews. (Over its run, it should top 1mil in any case, has probably a shot at 1,5mil and might even go higher). Another domestic opener, Gott du kannst ein Arsch sein (with Til Schweiger) might also see a strong opening but I can't see it reach 100k for the weekend. Misbehaviour flew a bit under my radar, no idea where this could be headed. In Austria, similar numbers with Tenet on top, but A Nice Girl Like You opened much higher than in Germany (#2 in Austria). IndustriousAngel
First estimates for Germany's weekend from insidekino.de: #1: Jim Knopf und die wilde 13 - about 200k incl. previews (probably around 130k for the weekend) #2: Tenet - 90k (20% drop, but only 10% down from 2 weekends ago- very nice) #3: close between Ooops!2, After We Collided and the domestic comedy with around 50k each

IndustriousAngel
thanks! Tenet in Austria about 18% ahead of Germany which is a bit better than usual for similar productions (usually, I assume a 10-15% lead) but Germany is showing better holds, so in the end it will probably fall inside that range. But for other releases, there are really noteworthy differences: After We Collided: 39% ahead in Austria ! The New Mutants: 60% ahead !! No Escape: 268% ahead !!! Scoob!: 275% ahead !!!! A Nice Girl Like You: 319% ahead !!!!!

Domestic comedy Gott, du kannst ein Arsch sein! had a respectable opening, at least not an outright flop. Among holdovers, Onward crossed 400k - finally. No Escape continues to collect its trickle of admissions (in Austria, it's a sleeper hit with far better numbers). Tenet had a fine drop, especially considering the increase last weekend. Next weekend: Another domestic comedy, Es ist zu deinem Besten, wich is maybe overdoing it at that front, and French crime comedy La Daronne, plus Dark Waters - no standout here, Jim Knopf should be a safe #1 for another weekend (and probably longer, looking at the upcoming competition, and James Bond postponed, it might spend A LOT of weeks in that spot …) In Austria, A Nice Girl Like You was #1, outperforming Germany by about 300% - Jim Knopf otoh was far behind Germany; the book seems to be less popular here.
