Very good weekend. "Expendables 2" is very strong an "Ted" managed a good hold again. German local comedies did well again; especially low-budgeted "Die Kirche bleibt im Dorf" which might even enter the Top10 next week - a further expansion is planned. And IceAge4 has a fantastic run; new CGI-film "Zambezia" didn't hurt it at all.

The coming weekend has a lot of openers again but none as strong as this week's. "Cabin in the Woods" and "The Watch" from Hollywood + local comedies and - possibly the strongest opener - local children's film "Der kleine Rabe Socke". The most interesting openers will not draw major crowds: Adult animation "Chico & Rita" and "Samsara".

Anybody know German-Switzerland's gross for TE2? or admissions total? or even how many theatres it played? anything...

On the left is German speaking Switzerland and on the right is French speaking Switzerland. There's apparently no chart for Italian speaking Switzerland, but it does get a mention, underneath where it lists the weekend you'll see:

So if a film plays on just one screen it gets into the Top 10....tiny market!Must be like 2 cinemas maximum in Italian-Switzerland.

It's about 10 theaters (mostly very small) but Locarno is home to one of Europe's most respected film festivals.

TE2 had 5 theaters, then 4, now back to 5 again. Such a small market. How a festival can make a market. I suppose France would be rubbish without Cannes

Opening Day for "Cabin in the Woods" and "The Watch" ... we can already state that Expendables2 is very safe on Nr1 for the weekend as is Step Up 4 on Nr2; "The Watch" and "Cabin in the Woods" might have trouble beating "Ted" in its 6th weekend.
