Fullbuster
Suicide Squad benefits from an impressive infrastructure for its OW : 1405 screens (Tarzan got 830 screens), 912 being in 3D and 12 being IMAX. That will be a fascinating weekend See you tomorrow for the OD number
James
I am so excited for what SS could do in Brazil. Wonder if it will reach BvS heights, seeing how in other markets it far outpaced it.

Suicide Squad will have a better ER, not a good one but still helpful for numbers in USD. Brazil is a great market for comic book movies as a whole, not just Marvel.

In every market we have number for till now (SK, FR, Sweden) it beat BvS. I hope it happens the same in most countries.

If it does it that will be really huge.

Fullbuster
SUICIDE SQUAD = $3m OD Absolutely huge, really. Edited August 5, 2016 by Fullbuster
Fullbuster
No numbers in lc yet but with $3m OD it's worth R$9.75m That means it could be close to BVS (R$40m OW) and Civil War (42m), that would be huge that's for sure.
Fullbuster
Excellent news for SS : the ER still considerably improved this week, reaching $1 = R$3.17, the best ER since July 7 2015
Fullbuster
No numbers from FilmeB, that's weird....Maybe because of Olympics....
Fullbuster
Given FilmeB isn't active for now I decided to do some research. Star Wars 7 apparently was the biggest OD ever in Brazil with R$9.5m, Civil War is second with R$9.3m. If Suicide Squad's $3m OD is true then it probably broke the OD record in lc with R$9.55m-9.6m, but I need a confirmation to be totally sure. Anyway, that's a big deal, in USD it did better than Civil War ($2.7m), helped by a better ER. Edited August 6, 2016 by Fullbuster

MinaTakla
Hey @Fullbuster- am trying to add an estimate for Pets in Brazil based on its release date which is after the holidays and after the Olympics end. How much in local currency do you see it realistically making based on its good latin america performance, no competition but also release date? That's not an easy one to predict given it's a new franchise and that children will be back to school. Something around $5m-6m OW would be good and doable, and ending near 20-22m. But I'm cautious there, it could do more than that, particularly with an improving ER.
Fullbuster
With $3m OD Suicide Squad could reach $11m-12m OW, allowing it to pass $30m, maybe it could also pass BVS' $35m!! That's pretty amazing, with that it would enter the top 10 all-time in lc. Fascinating!
