PierreHP
Well, why not. I'm more optimistic because unlike THG Star Wars already has a fanbase in Brazil, THG had nothing and that's why it got $10m despite a very advantageous exchange rate at that time, that's why I'm confident about SW. You don't live in Brazil and have never been there so how do u know?
Fullbuster
You don't live in Brazil and have never been there so how do u know? Are you kidding me? Is that a joke? Do you live in a bubble? Brazil is a democratic country and the country got Hollywood movies for a very long time, decades actually Star Wars movies have been shown on Brazilian television, Brazilians could download these movies and some of them watched them in cinemas..Of course tocket prices were much lower 15 years ago so the box office numbers were pretty low too, but by taking the inflation and the much bigger number of theaters and screens it's pretty easy to understand there is a fanbase already. THG was new so there was no fanbase apart from some fans of the books, but these books were pretty unknown before the first movie.
Fullbuster
LOL I went on Adorocinema, the most visited Brazilian website about cinema, and SW7 is only the 23rd anticipated movie o_o Brazil is likely to be one of the most disappointing territory for this movie. In a way, even if there is a fanbase it's probably not big enough to make a difference, just enough to make it profitable on this territory but not much else. It makes sense anyway given science fiction movies always bomb there, Brazilian are not interested in these movies for some reason, think about Interstellar and how pitiful its performance was..Brazil is more about football, religion and superheroes. Fullbuster
Even the new Divergent movie is more anticipated. Given it's a movie surfing on the success of THG movies it's not a surprise to see it can get a share of its viewers. For some reason Brazil is not into science and technology, it's probably linked to the weakness of its education system and the strong prevalence of religion. R&D spending is under 1% as well, it's extremely weak. So it's not a friendly territory for sci-fi movies.

Fullbuster
What is R&D? Research & Development. R&D spending is the share of GDP invested in research by governments & private firms..Research to find new innovations in the high tech sector for example, research to find new stars in the universe, to find a cure against cancer and so on...Brazil doesn't invest in those things, and still it's so important to do it if you want your economy to reach the status of developed economy. The biggest R&D spending country is the United States, with around 450 billion dollars invested in R&D in 2015.

It's quite unlikely, particularly with such an exchange rate.
Fullbuster
Did you hear about Ashley Madison? According to the data the city with the biggest number of users is Sao Paulo (374,542 users), so these 374,000 people cheated on their partner ahaha, followed by New York City, Sydney, Toronto, Santiago (Chile), Melbourne (Australia), Houston, Los Angeles, London and Chicago

Fullbuster
KFP3 number is low. When you take the exchange rates into account it's not, that would mean it would be bigger than KFP2 in local currency.
