Unfortunately I don't think it can pull it, haven't seen PS for DB but they should be huge, the franchise is heavily fanbase-driven and that would be enough to win the weekend.

As in all Latinoamercia, DBS Broly should win with a very froantloaded OW. I expect a very strong OW in Mexico.

Is Broly expected to do better than the last movie which made something like $6.1 million?

Similar, DB is a constant saga when come to numbers since it only appeals the fanbase and plummets after first week.

EDIT. Although a bigger result is very doable thanks to the recent increase of prices and the fact that this is the first time a DB saga opens on IMAX and gets all of the 4D screens.

So you don't think it will pull a Brazil then?

So far in Brazil, Thailand and Malaysia the movie has opened even higher than what Resurrection F did in total.

I think you should check the pre-sales.

In Chile this is easily going to beat the previous ones in admissions just in the first week.

PS are always huge for DB, even the ones for Battle of the Gods back in 2013 were massive even for these days. They skew a lot like SW presales in the US.

I do believe it'll undoubtedly beat previous entries but don't see such a big overperformance like everywhere else. $6M-$8M should be fine.

PS for Glass have started, it's getting  9:00 PM Thursday previews -similar to Incredibles 2 and Aquaman last year- on the 17th and opens wide the 18th. Wonder if thursday previews are going to start to become more and more common.

PS for HTTYD 3 also started, it's opening on Feb 1st but is playing previews on Jan 27th. It seems to be a pretty good release strategy, we'll see if it works.

Dragon Ball Resurrection F OW:  1.1M audience + 52.38M lc (about $3.4M), > 50% of the total gross.

Quote

“La Resurección de Freezer” -cuyo título original es “Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F”- tuvo un primer fin de semana con una recaudación de 52 millones 388,793 de pesos y una asistencia de un millón 101,754 espectadores, de acuerdo con cifras de la Cámara Nacional de Industria Cinematográfica (Canacine).

Broly is having amazing OW in other Latin American countries. What are the chances of a 100M lc OW?

I say it has a shot.. Could pull a near $10M total thanks to more formats and higher prices.
