Pre-sales for The Batman from today. Lots of screens for 2nd March, starting as early as 9 am in larger markets. @Carlangonz, how's things looking like, any early predictions?

Still calmed. There's not much rush as it was for NWH so morning/early afternoon shows are slow but late night business looking quite busy for premium incl IMAX and VIPs. I think it'll mirror Joker which had sales well spread through the weekend but still had lots of walk-ups

How many more screens in percentage if we compare with Joker or other DC movies ?

Except for Endgame and NWH; full schedules don't show up until the week of release. Joker (highest for WB/DC) had 5,060 screens during OD so I think Warner will keep it around there, probably cap at 5,300.

Death on the Nile didn't open at #1 as per estimates, no numbers yet but it was less than $1.2M. So who won the weekend?

Won't be shocked if Moonfall 2nd weekend beat it and repeated as No. 1. Or Nightmare Alley climbed back to the top after those Oscar noms.

No Way Home has been pulling some great holds; but in terms of positions its 9th weekend ($5M) is only surpassed by Parasite, Nosotros los Nobles and Avatar. No SH/CBM-based title comes close.

@Purple Minion I think Nile is 4th. Really bad performance but not surprising tbh

Wait,Is this Parasite that Korea movie?

How could this movie become such a great hit in Mexico?

Yes. It had a 15x multi but 9th weekend was particularly big because it had been two weeks post-Oscars so after its huge increase the weekend after just decreased to $10.1M one after. It's No. 2 among foreign titles only below latest DBZ and just had an incredible reception among audiences and critics due to local resonance of the subjects it touches.

Don't ask for Source and you can have DATA lol. Also Parasite isn't 1st in 9th Weekend record, but Avatar is. Parasite did have better 8th Weekend though.

PARASITE

7th - 5.39m lc

8th - 17.03m lc [OSCAR BOOOST]

9th - 10.12 lc

10th - 5.59m lc

11th - 3.21m lc

AVATAR

7th - 20.39m lc

8th - 15.1m lc

9th - 10.92m lc

10th - 7.60m lc

11th - 3.21m lc

There maybe a local movie that is higher but no HLW movie was higher.

This lines up with a report of this local comedy selling close to 2M admissions, a 15-week run and about 350k admits opening.

Too bad there's no much data pre-1994 because I saw a similar report a while ago of a local title from 1979 (comedy El Chanfle) selling close to 10M admissions which is a rare achievement for local pictures these days since there's only one that did it in the last 30 years. Probably in the golden era some locals sold even 20M+ but I guess we'll never know.

Yeah, I checked and it's Avatar but it's not $15.1M but $10.9M unless there was a miscounting

lc$10.92M is for 9th Weekend no? Data that I have looks something like that:

Avatar is twice in Top 10 rankings for Weekends ranking as 3D and Normal. So, I always added 'em up to get Avatar (Total) = lc$ 8,049,584 + lc$ 2,874,536 = lc$10,924,120  for 9th Weekend.

I wasn't sure if I should add 'em or not but When I compared to Mojo's Data - It only became equal only when both were added. ~ US$867,383 (as per Mojo) is roughly  lc$ 11m.
