Purple Minion
Today is Children's Day and Monday is a bank holiday. I think we'll be looking at a record 3-day (Fri-Sun) OW, and the 4-day OW is also going to be insane (375M lc) and could top AOU's 395M lc. Purple Minion
Well my estimates fell short. CW shattered the all-time OW in USD ($26M) and lc (close to 450M lc) in only 3 days. Unbelievable. And there's still Bank Holiday Monday to come, unless Disney is already adding Monday to the mix If these numbers hold, it means #2 movie of the year and #20 all-time.

Purple Minion
Mmm. Either Exhibitor Relations made a typo in their tweet or Disney is already including Bank Holiday Monday in some estimates. Mexico total is now being reported as $20.6M, not $26M. That's 361M lc and certainly not the biggest OW (AOU was 395M lc), although AOU had a 4-way (Thu-Sun) and CW is only Fri-Sun. Other totals: TJB: $19.7M, #3 of the year - would have been #2 if it wasn't for them pesky Avengers. THWW: $7.2m. Purple Minion
Weekend numbers. CW is the all-time 3-day OW with 351.3M lc ($20.3M), falling short of the all-time OW (4-day) still hold by AOU. If it plays like AOU, it should reach $40M and sneak into the all time Top 5. TJB still packing theatres, 38.2M lc weekend ($2.1M) for a 348.5M total ($19.3M). Thrylos 7
CW 60%+ bigger opening than BvS . Not bad .
Purple Minion
CW up to $22,500,000 in Mexico according to Mojo ... that's a fantastic $2.1M Monday, but may not be enough to match AOU 4-day opening, and from what I'm reading, Disney is not considering Monday as part of the OW. Also I've been informed Monday was not a bank holiday. In any case, it's going to be close. Edited May 3, 2016 by Purple Minion

Purple Minion
I thought it would be, but Labour Day was celebrated on Sunday Still, it may be the one of the biggest, non-holiday Mondays ever ... if only we had daily tallies...

In many countries as Labour Day was technically this past sunday, people have postponed that holliday till friday because Thursday is an official holliday and people could then enjoy an extended weekend from thursday to sunday. Purple Minion
Deadline reporting that TJB is now at $19.9M. It may have jumped over Deadpool to become the #3 movie of 2016.
Purple Minion
Reports: CW now up to $24M (about 410M lc), with another strong day ($1.5M Tue). At this rate it could reach $37M by Sunday and kick BVS out of the top position in 2016. As a comparison, CA2 grossed $25.7M on its entire run, and CA $20.2M. In lc and admissions, CW has already out-ranked both. Edited May 4, 2016 by Purple Minion
Purple Minion
Would you look at that. Reports put CW at $25,600,000 in Mexico (440M lc) by Wednesday. Tickets are flying faster than guacamole on Cinco de Mayo Tomorrow's weekly numbers may throw a surprise or two.
Purple Minion
And we got figures! CW gross up to Thursday is now a massive 474,953,007 lc ($27.4M), #18 in all time lc. Audience is 9,332,835, enough to be in the all-time Top 25. TJB up to 360,737,631 lc ($20.3M), #3 movie of the year. Will post the entire weekly table and more info later on today.
Purple Minion
Weekly gross/audience. Almost every theatre in the country is showing either CW or TJB No info for movie at #10, CANACINE messed up the numbers again. Up to Thursday, CW is now the 2nd fastest grossing movie of all time (behind AOU), and the highest grossing from Fri to Thu. Handy table with info from recent blockbusters, in bold the record holders per column category. The first page of this thread has the latest info about Top Movies for 2016. Purple Minion
Preliminary weekend numbers. CW up to $34.3M. That means a $6.9M weekend (about 119M lc). Depending on the actuals, it could become the 2nd fastest grossing movie (behind AOU) and third highest second week (after FF7 and AOU). Good result, but it's going to take a bit longer to leap over BVS. TJB still making money, $1.7M weekend for a soft 38% drop and $22M total (385M lc). Only days to cross the magic 400M lc barrier!

Purple Minion
Will it reach AOU heights, though? So far they're neck and neck!
Purple Minion
While we wait for official weekend figures, worth mentioning that the past weekend (April 29–May 1) became the highest grossing ever, in lc (403.6M) and USD ($23.4M), for the Top 10 only. First time the 400M lc threshold was crossed on a weekend. Previous highest grossing weekends (all over 300M lc) were: May 1-3, 2015 - 322M lc. TA2 #1, FF7 #2 June 19-21, 2015 - 316M lc. IO #1, JW #2. July 10-12, 2015 - 315M lc. Minions #1, Terminator Genysis #2.
