Regarding the Middle East ban, people who watched the movie said that there isn't even anything related to LGBTQ stuff in the movie. So I wonder if they are banning it because of the feminist message/theme...I was looking on twitter regarding this topic and I saw some Middle Eastern posters speculating that this could have been the reason for the ban

Tweet has been deleted. Probably a Press Release is coming soon.

Hopefully they figure this out. I think it's a good movie and people should go and see it, and not be ruined by such scandal while the marketing is ramping up as well.

Anti-Feminist is not on their agenda.. Barbie ban is entirely centered around Anti-LGBTQ thats about it. MovSTo in Saudi Arabia passed many feminist movies thru the censorship before but it is easy to predict there pattern they solely stop all positive LGBTQ elements or movies promoting LGBTQ

i don't think the problem is something subtle but just the fact the movie shows from scene 1 a world where woman have every power, they are even in an all female constutional court.

I mean no offence but in some cases we're talking about cultures where women can't drive 🙂

I don’t know if I was right or wrong but as far as I know India culture not very friendly to women but Barbie performance in India is not that bad,so the culture is not a super problem

Every culture has a problem with women but I think india Is very different from the countries quoted. Also India Is basically a continent so there are very different zones, cultures and social perceptions inside It. It's something really big and complicated and it'not easy to define "india is like that".

Yeah so I said I could be wrong since my thinking of India all come from News and Media which is probably not the ture.

As far as I know, South Korea have these problems too. And as we seen, it bombed.

But correct me if I'm wrong.

While it has its problems, having lived there, India is nowhere near as bad as the others mentioned for women, atleast in places with larger population.
