Is there any chance HTTYD2 stays somewhat flat from last weekend?

It will increase today for sure since it wasn't that strong on friday last week. Presales are running pretty close with GotG at the moment so it depends on how many people choose httyd2 over GotG. If there is a spillover from roaring currents I wouldn't be too shocked if HTTYD2 even increases.

I really hope it can surprise us in South Korea despite this big local movie, and apparently it's quite the case :)

Unfortunately it isn't up against just roaring currents, it still lags a little behind HTTYD2 and there are two more big hits on the way over the next 2 weeks.

Based on week days Kundo was hit hard by Roaring Currents. If it loses this weekend to Dragon 2 ( which is highly probable ) and GOTG ( probable ) then it would make place for the next Local hit next week.

OK so there is nothing to expect from SK I guess....

Good points, of course it all depends on how <the pirates> (next "big" local film) plays out next week. I've seen the trailer and I'm not that impressed. If it is well recieved though Kundo will likely be crushed since it's also a period film.

Well, it's difficult but not impossible. As olive said in the GotG OS thread, it had a better OD compared to Thor2 and it has summer weekdays to rely on. Also it can benifit from any spillover effect from the big local releases. At this moment I think it's too early to call which direction it'll take but it has put it self in a good position with respects to word of mouth.

Roaring currents presales are huge right now, 69.8% share with 492,606 tickets presold, which is a record if I'm not mistaken. It's possible that it breaks TF3's OW saturday admissions of 956,500 in which case it will be the first film to pass 1 million admissions in a single day.

What is the estimated total for Roaring Currents?

It will pass 4 million by the end of the week. The total by the end of the run hard to say but 10 million admissions looks more and more likely.
