Rsyu
Good observation about VOD sales. A lot of box office flops like Obsessed and the fatal encounter are ending their theatrical runs early now and moving to the VOD market for additional income. It basically cuts down on the number of illegal downloads, as you can get high quality viewings from the comfort of your home not that long after the end of a particular movie stops screening, instead of crap quality films that's available for free/low price online. On that point it's been a while since the VOD charts have been updated so: Vod Sales (January 2013 - July 2014) Rank Download Count Title 01. 1,094,853 Face reader 02. 1,051,394 Masquerade 03. 983,102 Miracle in cell no.7 04. 973,056 Frozen 05. 789,824 New World 06. 687,443 Man on the edge 07. 620,734 Friend: The great Legacy 08. 551,659 The Berlin File 09. 528,138 Secretly, Greatly 10. 513,663 A werewolf boy 11. 482,643 Cold eyes 12. 480,059 Fist of legend 13. 467,694 Hide and seek 14. 459,630 Oblivion 15. 468,308 Iron Man 3 16. 423,495 The Fatal Encounter 17. 417,411 The Terror Live 18. 378,411 World War Z 19. 366,428 Tower 20. 360,164 Confessions of Murder June VOD top 10 chart 01. 277,602 The Fatal Encounter 02. 175,302 Obsessed 03. 149,176 Non stop 04. 142,148 Miss Granny 05. 98,232 The Target 06. 91,780 Frozen 07. 90,580 Broken 08. 79,002 Noah 09. 50,260 300: Rise of an Empire 10. 43,010 Robocop July VOD top 10 chart 01. 210,669 The Target 02. 161,433 Obsessed 03. 145,893 The Fatal Encounter 04. 138,497 For the emperor 05. 98,167 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 06. 97,998 Man in high heels 07. 93,038 No tears for the dead 08. 81,868 X-Men: Days of future past 09. 54,021 Frozen 10. 44,011 Transendence Edited August 5, 2014 by Rsyu

chasmmi
WOW... Roaring Currents is just killing it. How far can it go? Is 100m+ now a lock? I feel like the answer should be definately, but a bit like Frozen, the style of this run in unprecedented. The way it is acting now, it's going to break 1Mil admissions again on Sat and Sun to have the top 5 single days admissions of all time. This has to be impossible though and Pirates will surely dent it somewhat. The current numbers would suggest even silly figures like 15M admissions are reaching lock territory. However the Korean market has a habit of legs falling off a cliff even for record breakers and crown pleasers (snowpiercer, Facereader, Frozen) all hit a point where they just plain died over about 8 days. If the cliff for Torrents is next week it will plummet to a 'mere' 11M admissions or so, maybe 12. IF it stays strong through Pirates and Sea fog, it could break 15M.
