Apparently a certain number of people who watched the it in the previews have taken to the SNS and posted spoilers everywhere. not sure how this will impact the box office but it's still adding an unnecessary element lf confusion that probably could have been avoided had there not been wide previews.. yeah I mean they were called previews, but it was nothing more or less than wide opening, really. yjs
btw Operation Chromite is getting TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE reviews as expected.. like a masturbatory nationalistic propaganda film straight from the 50s as the reviewers say. Old people will LOOOVE it tho and the conservative media and probably the president will spin it hard if that's the case, as they did with Ode to My Father. Rsyu
That OD from Train to Busan easily beats the previous OD record of 728K set by Civil War, which was even boosted by culture day come to think of it. Just crazy! Edited July 20, 2016 by Rsyu

Just the trailer made me cringe tbh, doubt I could sit through a full feature length film of similar standard stuff. To be honest though, I thought ode to my father was pretty enjoyable

Aristis
So it had the best OD after wide previews!!! And the title says NYSM is bigger than Dory? Is it really the biggest OD? I don't feel that much excitement here...

NYSM1 also did double score to Nemo.

yjs
ugh, Dory's presales are at merely 20k now. This is what I don't like about Korean box office runs. The new movie sweeps are too insane and movies in general are not guaranteed a sustainable theatrical run and the drops are too steep. Dory would just barely pass 2M+ adm at this rate. Yeah..that's pretty much true of most things in Korea not just the box office. The music industry is just as bad if not worse in my opinion. The unfortunate reality is that the unequal screen distribution is a problem but one that doesn't look to be solved any time soon. Given that, I think it's great that several films in any given year can go on unexpected and remarkably leggy runs and give us something to cheer about Edited July 22, 2016 by Rsyu

I'd say for now it's possible but not probable While word of mouth is pretty decent for Train to Busan, it's hard to predict with any level of certainty that any film will repeat RC's success. RC was probably a more four quad film too, and I don't see the elderly folk turning up to see a zombie flick.
