Man of Steel thread OS

No, if it's 2x, it would be good.

The point was you are a very negative person. Relax and stay positive. These numbers are fine for a series of movies that will only gross higher the next time around.

Thu 16.9m, Friday 19.7M, Sat 32m, Sun 26m

Around 94m extended OS 2nd weekend. Barely missing 100m. Cume 194M OS by Sunday. Plus 210M DOM. Just over 400M WW by Sunday.

So what we're looking at for the OS finish from those 52 markets?

Maybe:

306~310M OS finish from current markets with 50% weekly drops (194m +  another 112/115)

290M OS finish from current markets with 55% weekly drops (194m +  another 95)

275M OS finish from current markets with 60% weekly drops (194m +  another 80)

That includes China?

If so, with the 50% weekly drop scenario, 310M. Australia can add 20M+. Japan and Brazil I'd say a 50M (kinda optimistic I think: but Brazil can deliver I hope) That'll be 380M+

Hong Kong has 9-10M potential. Definitely can push for 400M OS, but I think 500M OS is out of reach.

Including China and all 52 markets that have been opened this week.

Maybe it can go bit higher than 310m from these, like 330m. But dont see JP can double SR (11M). BR maybe more than double SR (7.8) but see 20m tops there.

You think 9~10M from HK ? That would be insane number ...

Bluebomb predicted 3.6M OW and 9.5M total for MOS about 2 weeks ago in a MOS preview. I believe it can do that since Superman is really popular in HK.

But with both NYSM and WWZ breaking out over there, especially WWZ, which will have the 2nd biggest OW of 2013 in HK; Bluebomb said that will definitely affect MOS. So maybe lower, but I'm not sure how much lower and how big an impact WWZ will have on it.

300M is 100% done. It'll be close to 200M after this weekend. I honestly cannot see 500M OS yet. But IMO, 400M is kinda locked , and very strong chance for 450M+

With 300M Domestic minimum, you'll be looking at 700M WW. Depends on how high the Dom number goes, and how good the holds are in OS markets, I think 800M is definitely on the cards.

With a rather weak 2nd Friday DOM, $800m WW seems a dream that will never come true. This will do TASM numbers maybe even less now that Europe numbers is not that spectacular. China will be a big help but there is only so much China can do...

I posted that before the domestic weekend, and OS numbers for this weekend come in  :P

Agree, 700M is still the target, and that is a great target still.

How can sub 15M,maybe 12m, total in Germany be good for a movie this big?

It's likely missing top 30 yearly.

Superhero films always underperform in Germany, The Avengers had the biggest OS gross last year, but was only number 9 in Germany.

Because SR only did $3.7m and BB $7m...
