This movie holds a huge spot in my childhood. I actually watched the VHS to this so many times it broke and we had to buy another. I had several Woody and Buzz toys, and I think I probably had most characters in the movie at one point. :PToy Story is a simple buddy film told with so much heart and wit, and the relationship and development of Woody/Buzz really make that something special. I think what helps make them so great is how incredibly realistic their feelings/personalities are. Woody's sense of jealousy and fear of being replaced, to Buzz's initial pride. With that, Pixar crafted the two most believable/ relatable animated characters ever, and it was just made better by Hanks and Allen's great performances.Best animated movie ever. To infinity and beyond/5 stars.

It may lack the sophistication of its sequels, but Toy Story still manages to be a really fun time. The characters are great, with Hanks and Allen both delivering some of the best vocal performances of all time. It's funny and charming, and it thankfully takes advantage of the limitations of technology when it was released. I like to compare it to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was the first traditionally animated feature-length movie. That film has way too much filler in it to show off the tech, but Toy Story smartly sticks to the story and character work. Toy Story is a revolution in animation and more importantly, a very enjoyable film. A-

Toy Story is still remarkable for a debut film for an entire medium. Ignoring that aspect, it’s still a really great film, with Woody and Buzz being one of Pixar’s finest duos, voiced to perfection by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen. The animation is rough at points now, but it’s not bad enough to bother. The story is so tight, and the childhood memories this brings back is truly lovely. Toy Story started a new era in animation and remains well worth watching again and again. A-
