Bob Violence
Oh. I thought the thing linked to on the last page indicated it was getting IMAX copies, since it had an IMAX listing with a separate number (which looked like some sort of serial/visa number). A Marvel Fanboy
That is release code. 001(China)-3(2D IMAX)-0625(film code)-2013 001(China)-1(2D digital)-0625(film code)-2013 But actually PT didnt do the IMAX-DMR.
A Marvel Fanboy
PT probably does around 10M yuan from 22pm previews, one of the strongest ever. Over/under 70M OD with record-breaking 40000+ shows ? Anything over 50M OD locks 800M IMO. Edited December 18, 2013 by firedeep
zackzack
Personal Tailor doesnt have real IMAX copies though. It just is showing on those screens. It is more likely that PT will double PS2013. This movie is gonna beat Jackie Chan?
grim22
This should be huge, to be released about 1 week from Chinese New Year 2014? Is this a sequel to the Police Story movies from the 80s. I used to love those movies when they played on TV in India. Police Story, Armor of God, Project A - so many laughs and so much action in those movies. I was always left amazed.

zackzack
zackzack loves Jackie Chan. WTF? Not really, I like the guy for his complete commitment to entertaining his audience but a lot of his movies are not well written. I dislike CZ12. But the new POLICE STORY looks different, gritty, more realistic and from the trailer, it looks like something I can sit through. A Marvel Fanboy
This movie is gonna beat Jackie Chan? Easily, it makes at least 40% more than PS2013 I'd say.
Bob Violence
Is this a sequel to the Police Story movies from the 80s. Not really, it's a "reboot" with Jackie playing a completely different character. He's a mainland cop now, 'cause Hong Kong doesn't want him anymore. A Marvel Fanboy
The trailer for PS2013 looks awful ... but according to someone who has seen it, the film is "really good".

Bob Violence
Jackie's burned through a lot of his goodwill in Hong Kong with tone-deaf comments about how Hong Kong has too much freedom and general sucking up to the mainland (which goes beyond even what some mainlanders are willing to tolerate). CZ12 still did fine in HK, but nothing spectacular. But the mainland market is so important now that PS2013 probably would've been set in the mainland no matter what.

A Marvel Fanboy
Looks very interesting It gotta be. This is the only film in 2014 that has the possibility to beat TF4. (My opinion is it will). Edited December 20, 2013 by firedeep
A Marvel Fanboy
PT OD 80.2 includes 10.2m previews. Records: biggest OD screens/screenings, biggest Dec OD, 3nd biggest OD for local films, 5th all time biggest OD, biggest preview/midnight for local films. OW projection: 340M = (80.2/72/103/85) Records: biggest OW screenings, biggest Dec OW, biggest OW for local films, 4th all time biggest OW. PT probably could also be the second film ever to broke 10m adms on OW. Edited December 20, 2013 by firedeep
