Michael Seng Wah
6M OD... How does that compare to other comicbook movies? 20-25mil OW?
ecstasy
Regarding Cavill I can totally understand where you're coming from Sam but the more I thought about it the more I realized that Henry was BRILLIANT. People tend to say that he didn't have much to say and that he was humorless and they'd be right but people tend to forget that the character it self was portrayed as an outsider who didn't want to stand out or say too much, a man who carried the burden of his father's death on his shoulders. But if you think of Cavill's key scenes, he showed a range of great emotions e.g. The restraint against that drunk truck driver, the sadness and anguish over Johnathan's death, the sheer joy of flying, the furiousity during the fight scenes and finally the shock during the final zod scene. Cavill reminded me that sometimes you need emotion as much as dialogue to shine (or maybe I'm seeing things that aren't there but I hope not). LOL This role suited Henry. It played to his acting strengths. He does have a sincerity about him. However, he is very wooden and this is about the extent of his acting skills. Olive
MOS 2nd biggest OD of 2013 for any hollywood movie.
A Marvel Fanboy
Hmm ... Estimated to be just 36M $5.8M OD, including md. Pretty meh OD for a movie this scale and on so many screens, almost on par with GIJ2. More, WOM seems to be average too. If a Hollywood movie on this scale still can not surprise, we can once again claim that Hollywood is dead. People would rather to pay $6 seeing a 90 mins local TV soap opera in a theater, but not a visual feast with the same ticket price. Since 2011, most Hollywood big A list had been stuck in the $50~60m range. I think now finally it is safe to say that that range is the peak for most Hollywood movies. A Marvel Fanboy
6M is meh? For a reboot? I'm confused. Rest on the chart except IM3 opened on much less screens. If you dont want the word "meh" for a possible $50~60m range, then call it "no surprise".

Sam
We can always get daily numbers the next day afternoon. Thanks And I'm confused about the WOM thing. Olive said it's mixed early on, then Polylove said it's good, and you said it's average. So how is it really?
