I don't know anything about So Young except that it looks to be big in China but its good to have competition for IM3. Disney just has to make good product. Not too worried about IM3 prospects if given a fair chance.

Not really. It is Disney, again, that made the blog post a May 3 release "announcement".

 

DMG is still working with China Film to settle the finial OFFICAL date. Result coming in a few hours.

Blame Disney/Marvel. They dropped a press release about a May 3 IM3 release to DeadlineHollywood and THR on Wednesday without the agreement from China Film Group and DMG while the latter were still working on a possible pre-May release for the movie. Disney just made it worse. Stupid !

 

DMG and CFG at the moment are about to get a seal confirmation for IM3 release notification from the Film Bureau. Disney (or any other foreign film company) is not even a distributor in China. What they say about any release date means nothing.

One takeaway from all this is that there is basically no communication between Disney and DMG.

 

I can just imagine the Film Bureau saying "okay, May 3rd it is, that's what you wanted all along, right?"
