Yeah. The fact that a movie like The Watch topped the chart says something about the box office.Next week will be better for sure. Local flick The Mistress will earn big bucks and Resident Evil as well.

According to Star Cinema execs on twitter, The Mistress will likely cross 100 million pesos today (~$2.4 million). Pretty strong for a local movie's 5 day opening. Let's see if BOM will confirm this numbers

It looks like "The Mistress" will dislodge "No Other Woman" as the all-time local box-office champ.With an exploding population and a sizzling economy, I expect more box-office records in the future.The more interesting thing for me, however, is the contrasting title of the 2 movies.Last year, the good people from the Philippines declared their marital fidelity by watching "No Other Woman".In less than a year, they flip completely arround and troop to theater to watch "The Mistress".Ha ha -- do these movies reflect the flippant nature of Filipino men?
