Jack Nevada
So Helen Hunt got a nomination for The Sessions but John Hawkes didn't? I liked Hunt in the movie, but Hawkes was really great
GiantCALBears
ZDT getting a nod from a non American film group is key, basically locks it into top 3 status with Lincoln and maybe Argo
Sims
Argo clearly gained the most from tonight's nominations. They adored it enough to nominate freaking Ben Affleck (LMAO), which is even more surprising given its patriotic slant. Meanwhile, ZDT couldn't get any surprises, and Spielberg is actually snubbed for director. Les Mis is falling out of the race for good, it seems. Jack Nevada
I guess the Skyfall backlash never came?
Sims
Skyfall needed a Best Film nom for me to take its BP chances seriously. I'll be really shocked if it makes it.

CoolioD1
BTW, I should change my supporting actor predict. I think Waltz is def the Django guy who gets in and not DiCaprio.

Fanboy
Pretty boring TBH. Looks like Lincoln will be leading the Oscar noms as well.
Sims
The supporting categories are a fucking mess this year. There are probably 10 legit contenders and only two or three locks in each.
Jack Nevada
Tommy Lee Jones is locked to win
CoolioD1
It feels gross to say it but Alan Arkin is probably a lock. Urgggh, I don't know what the fuck everyone sees in that performance! If it was a weaker year for the category like last year it wouldn't bother me so much.

CoolioD1
What does he even do in Argo? Is he like super hilarious or something?Eh, not really. He says "Argo fuck yourself" 1400 times, but that's about all he does.
Sims
TLJ is near locked to win, yeah. I thought DiCaprio could pull off an upset but his omission here is bad news. It looks like De Niro may actually miss out on a nom as well.EDIT: Alan Arkin is getting acclaim for playing Alan Arkin. I dont think he really deserved the Oscar he got for Little Miss Sunshine, either.Eddie Murphy, Jack McAvoy (for Last King of Scotland) or Jack Nicholson (for The Departed) were better.
